Default A couple of question about Tyrian vanquish

I recently i've started to vanquish Tyria(last continent to leg vanq ) and i've a couple of question....
1- What are the most annoying areas(such as desolation for elona)?
2- I'm not sure i'll need the drunkard title for get GWAMM(done survivor...), but someone said me that the less boring way to do it is drink while vanquishing...is a good idea in your opinion?
3-There are some areas in Kryta that would be easier/shorter to vanquish with a Wik quest active?

Thx in advance

P.S:move the thread if you think it must go under the Q&A section...

1 - There aren't any really. Some areas are large but the foes aren't that difficult. Maybe Lornar's Pass if you go from Beacon's Perch as it is a high-level area but you only get a 6-man party.

2 - This is only mentioned because Vanquishing takes a significant ammount of time where you can be doing drinking as well rather than adding additional time to drink when you're just standing in a town not doing anything. Doing two things at once obviously speeds up number of titles you can aquire. Also there are some skills that benefit from being Drunk that you could take (depending on your profession).

3 - The WiK will be bad for any Vanquishing. It is easier to do without any WiK active as the WiK groups can be harder to kill in HM than the normal foes of the area. Saying that I Vanquished all of Kryta with WiK active and didn't notice any problem.

Good luck with the vanquishing!

1. There are a few areas that can be at least mildly annoying.

The vanquish between Camp Rankor and Beacon's Perch (in either direction) can be difficult in places. In Dreadnought's Drift, you will be swarmed on entering the area, from either north or south. There are several bottlenecks in Lornar's Pass that are problematic as well because of anti-runner groups.

In Deldrimor Bowl, be prepared for groups with two or more Shiverpeak Protectors. They can be very effective in pairs, so be ready with either loads of interrupts or overwhelming firepower.

Likewise, the grawl areas of Eastern Frontier, especially around the statue of Lyssa, can be difficult with a four-person team. The grawl ulodytes are also very effective healers in pairs, and the hammer warriors can be devastating with their knockdowns.

3. The only areas I vanquished with WiK active were Cursed Lands (while doing the Barthimus bounty) and Kessex Peak (while doing the saved-up bounties for the three bosses there). It wasn't that much more difficult than normal. (I also had the Villainy of Galrath quest to make the rest of Kessex easier.)

But, I suspect you will want to do Nebo Terrace without WiK active, simply because of that huge mess down in the cul-de-sac where Cerris hangs out. Without WiK there is nothing there but a handful of Inferno Imps.

Advice i was once given refers to the 3 zones on the droks run (beacons to camp rankor ) and dont go from beacons because of the party size but go from bottom to top via camp rankor. Those 3 zones are bad enough in nm and ive yet to drum up enough courage to try them in hm lol

I strongly suggest that you do Talmark Wilderness with WiK active, the numbers of foes is decreased and none of the white mantles are implemented. Good luck and haz fun.

The crystal desert is pretty gay with its hydra patrols.

Watch out for life pod pops in the top of The Falls. These can make killing the groups of wind riders extremely annoying.

The droks run is long and groups with 3 Dolyak Masters can be annoying to take down.

Remember to use the vanguard title around Ascalon to help vs the charr.

Use Tex mod while VQing to get a large chunk of the cartographer out of the way. If u scrape as you go you will save alot of time in the long run.

Rotscale is easy, concentrate on his allies before him & just use terrain to your advantage - Protective Spirit helps a lot.

there isn't any single part of tyria that is difficult to vq. even the section through lornar's pass can be easily done leaving from beacons with 6-man party. sections with multiple healers in groups are easily dispatched with any mesmer hero that's worth a damn at all. the use of PvE only skills makes vq a walk in the park.

At least for me Elona was much more difficult than Tyria. The problem you have with Tyria is you have to be able to devote a lot of time to the vanquishing to get the most bang for your buck. There are many areas where you have to caravan vanquish or you will waste a lot of time running to get to where you need to go.

Probably the most annoying for me was the Old Ascalon area simply because of the smaller party size and the annoying Grawl healers. One word of advice if possible is to max out your EoTN rep titles as the Vanguard will help against the Char and Finish Him helped a great deal against the healers. Other than that be prepared to bore yourself to death.

Also, I would take the time to do the Cartographer titles as long as you are VQing the areas it cuts a lot of time out in the long run. GOOD LUCK!

I just finished vanqing the last three areas in Crystal Desert (Arid Sea, Skyward Reach, vulture drifts) and took an 8 man team out of the Mouth of Torment. That made dealing with all the Sand Elementals much easier. Really pretty smooth going with 8 people (heros and henchmen). The other areas of the Crystal Desert I did with a 6 man team, and even that wasn't bad.

With 9 more areas left in Prophs for Legendary Vanquisher I"m thinking of the areas that caused me some trouble and I'd have to say Ice Floe was a pain because of the HUGE mobs of Mursaat. I did it, but it entailed a lot of careful pulling and hero flagging. The ice imps are annoying in all areas.

I have yet to do Ice Dome, I heard that can be tough. I tried it after vanqing Talus Chute, but after the third party wipe I realized I was rushing, being sloppy and wasn't really into it. I think you need to be on your toes for that one.

Snakedance with two other people and the party filled out with heros was easy... umm.. we're going to be doing Dreadnought's Drift and Lonar's Pass. We'll probably come out of Grenth's Footprint (that was easy, too).

My last vanquishes will probably be the areas around old Ascalon: The Breach, Eastern Frontier, Pockmark Flats and Regent Valley. For those I plan to take my time and bring down a 6 man team from Yakk's Bend. I did that for Ascalon Foothills, Diessa Lowlands, Flame Temple Corridor and Dragon's Gullet and the extra members made the vanquish much easier.

Good luck. Tyria has been much easier so far than Elona.

Ice Dome, if you enter from Frozen Forest rather than Talus Chute.

Nasty.
