I am going for survivor on my second char which I wanna GWAMM and am planning to do this partly with books for a very simple reason: it is an awesome way to improve the protector/guardian titles as well. I will fill in at least one book for each campaign, both nm and hm and the dungeon nm and hm books, and the Young Heroes book, and after I have finished this I will have added 7 more titles. After this I will actually start the Survivor by vanquishing GWEN (thus getting another title - the Master of the North). If I din't get enough XP just from vq GWEN and then the books I stack, I will proceed to vq Luxon areas for my allegiance title. Will do so until I get some 8-900k xp without dying, then will use the books. I have not done the math to see exactly how much XP I will get from all the books, but I assume it to be 3-400k.

So by the time I get Survivor, I will have 8 more titles, too.

A friend of mine wants to get it by FoWSC - that is also a great way to do it.

Regular FoW clears are an awesome way, too.

Capping elites is great, especially if you have not capped all of them: great synergy.

Kilroy is... Kilroy. Good way, but rather boring.

Vaettirs seems awesome, too, especially due to the low duration.

The snow worms from Boreal Station seem like a very good way, too.

The best is, ofc, kath hammers, but those cost a fortune now.

Sooo many choices, enough for everyone to gain this title in the manner he finds most entertaining and/or proffitable. I sure am glad ArenaNet came with this change to the Survivor title. Kudos to those who got it the old way, it was a great undertaking, but this way makes much more sense imo and it can actually be enjoyable.

It insn't so enjoyable when you get disconnected by the server and isn't your fault. And you have to restart again, and again, and again... If they have the intention to make the Survivor title good for every people, they have to ensure that disconnections don't break your title.
Now, not only I have to restart, but my title track is stuck about at 1.271.000 and I must type the "/deaths" to see the progress. It's very very ugly.

And for the Drunkard title? I made it "old-school", it took me 10.000 minutes, but now every noob with some gold could make it... I defenitly don't like these updates, they should use the head and think what they're doing and all consequences.

That boils down to 189k exp/hour risk free. Even if you DC, chances are high you're still a survivor when you get back. And the 800g for the scroll is usually regained from drops like lockpicks and gold. Gain a decent Deldrimor rank, bring booze and Drunken Master and you might even do it in less than 3 minutes.

Wurms pop up in a certain pattern, you will learn the pattern for faster exp after a few runs.
Would you mind share more into that? Where can I find a guide/build?

Is it the bug with Shadow Form's damage reduction? Sometimes the order of assassin enchantments on you alters the damage reudction.

Back to the drawing board for the monk vaettir farm.

I'm using blessed insignias on all my armour, a 9% HSR and 20% ench sword, and a shield with the "Like a Rolling Stone" inscription.

In just under 2 hours I got Indomitable Survivor, but it's a fairly steep learning curve learning to farm it if you've never done any sort of farming before. I died loads to begin with while I was tinkering with various skills and mods but once you get the hang of it it's fairly safe!
I'd just like to add that today I got Legendary Survivor using this build, enjoy, Monks!

They're the nearly harmless "please please kill me" popup wurms north of boreal station.

Take a bar with regular old damage and heals, and go have fun.

Like: Sever, Gash, Galrath, Final, Sprint, Healing Signet, Watch Yourself, and um.... Charge? Dragon Slash? Really anything will be fine.

Just don't go attack the water elementals. They'll be rude to you.

Fix it to reflect what a lot of original Survivors may be thinking. I am kind of bummed that they changed the title since I always considered that "starting at level 1" requirement to be a big part of it. Even 5+ years of playing the game, I have still managed only one LS (who is still going at 0 deaths and nearly 4 mill XP at this point).

those worms only have adjacent attacks, so on a caster you shouldnt even get hit. id say a bunch of attack skills, and some heals, just in case
396xp each without scrolls
rather boring tho, ideal for watching tv partly playing

Just finished my Legendary Survivor and that finally put me up to GWAMM.

I was doing full clears of FoW but those were taking too long. I switched to doing the first 5 quests and maybe the the sixth one if I felt like it. Funny thing, I got two congrats sent to me via PM and neither one was in English.

HM books be it Nightfalls Hero handbook, or Shiros book, has synergy with the title and other rubish.....but pretty much 22 books and u max Leg Survivor and if u take the EoTN book then u pretty much max all ure other titles too fair enough 22 books is a little extreme, but then it is pretty idiot proof as when u had the books in u get the Exp so no chance of dying

If you want to be effective about that, bring spirits - kill, teleport, kill, teleport... There is pattern that you can use to make full use out of 30s-refresh scroll.

Spirits can attack even burrowed wurms once they aggroed on them btw. That speeds us stuff considerably.

Because I don't want to get disconnected again while "kilroying", I'm trying the wurm path and I find this farm very interesting and super-easy, the wurms (level 30) cannot harm you if you're not very close; my toon is a necro and I'll usually use Spirit Spammer build (I added Necrosis and another hex), it works pretty good here and, in the worst case, if I disconnect in the proximity of a wurm, it should not kill me because my spirits kill it faster and because I'm blessed by Norn having 690 hp. I may equip a shield to be more protected against wurm attacks.

Nice farm. Using double-exp blue scrolls (200%) every wurm gives you 792 xp; while I'm killing the first 10 wurms in 3 minutes, should be 158.400 xp per hour, that's pretty good.

Does the progress bar continue past r3 now, even after death? I try to kill my characters precisely at 1,337,500 simply for aesthetics. I'm wondering though, if I ever accumulate that much consecutive xp a second time, would the title bar start moving again? That would defeat the purpose of dying intentionally, and I'd be stuck with a silly-looking number.

Yes, I realize how trivial this might sound. But it's important to me.

I don't really know, because I've not acquired 1.337.500 xp ;-)

Other titles, for example gwen reputation title tracks, that continue increasing after the cap limit has been acquired. We have to wait someone else for answering to this question.

PS: a single wurm-path run now takes me LESS than 3 minutes, because if I type "/age" the game says "2 minutes"; the drop isn't too bad, some gold items too, some warrior tomes, if you pick up white drops you may buy scrolls for free.

Glad to hear you are making nice progress.

(You are usually better off dropping spirits and then running to position where you can summon them to attack next wurm immediatelly, much less downtime.)

To do LS on my war, I am doing Fastfoot farming. I get 11k XP per 3 min run, so that's around 220k XP per hour using double XP scrolls, and its very safe as well.

And if you're doing Killroy's in NM you can better do Wurms in HM, since it's faster.

Can people tell me the times they run for Killroy HM/wurms?

The wurm farm itself takes less than 3 minutes for me, but picking up drops and rezones averages out to 3.57 minutes per run.

I can do in Killroy HM in 13-15 minutes but I'll admit i'm pretty clunky at it.
