Default Defend North Kryta Province HM

I managed to beat all other Titan HM quests with no hassle.... but DNKP HM....
I tried spiritway, discords, ST, panic and I can't sem to make it to defend the Ascalon Settlement. I die when the second wave arrives every time.
Any tips for the 6-man or even 8-man setup?
I'm warrior primary.

Starting from ToA and doing it 8 man should make it much easier. The only thing to really watch out for then is Greywind being a moron.

Not much of a help Outworlds.

I just tried with this setup:


Didn't die a single time untill 2nd titan wave at Ascalon Settlement
When the titans arrived it was like if there was EoE standing: Boom, all my allies gone^^

Dunno really about it. I beat it with 8-man party with your usual AP-caller, 3x discord, inepti, panic, sogm, sos setup on my first try. IMO much easier than the last day dawns.

Actually, what you are seriously missing in there is a panic mesmer hero. I can tell that it prevents very, very much damage being done to your party by ele titans. I really cannot empathize this enough, but there is a whole lot of difference in a mob of titans being constantly interrupted. Bring panic and emerge victorious.

The main problem is greywind likes to jump out in the open. I use sos rit, st rit, panic mesmer, esurge, and pod healer. Warrior had Warrior's Endurance. technobabble is extremely useful here to shutdown groups. Set the ST rit up on the hill nearby since spawns don't come that way. You can head of the first wave. Don't head off any groups with a wild growth, it will pause as soon as it reaches aggro and pull greywind and the other warriors away. Flagging is very important to avoid sandstorm. SY is a pain to get up unless you get panic or technobabble up, so i can suggest asuran scan. Concentrate on earth titans since they cause wipes and watch for any wild growths dieing and catch the spawns with technobabble.

If anything I'd say you have too much defense and SoS on a warr is silly really.

From what I've seen there aren't any groups forming for it and besides, a Pug would likely do even worse.

1. SoS on a warrior is very bad, run a damage build like Earth Shaker and take a SoS rit (resto hybrid if you want)
2. Get rit of that monk.
3. Run hybrid necro restos, restoration elites are bad and you'll only need like 3 to 4 skills out of that attribute line. Take skills as Mark of Pain and Splinter Weapon to boost your damage output.
4. Take a panic mesmer.
5. Consider using a ST Rit / ER prot instead of the SoGM when still having problems
6. Take death Nova on the MM, no reason to run minions without that skill.
7. Consets and summoning stones are a huge help.

I remember I did this 6-man with:

E/A Air
Standard AotL MM
Standard SoS
Standard SoGM
ESurge Mes
N/Rt healer with Blood Magic

I largely don't remember what the monsters had though, so you may have problems if they have lots of melee hate. But their damage is affected by armour and you can run Asuran Scan, so it shouldn't be too bad.

If your heroes are wiping as though EoE was there, chances are you didn't flag them apart. Fix that, and you should be fine.

Thnx so much for the following tips guys:
-panic (I was dumb to drop it in the first place, I thought I wouldn't have enuff dmg)- it rly stopped 80% of Sandstorms
-Technobabble (+Silencing Spear) to quiet down the Titans not under Panic
-flagging ST away (I was silly not to spot the fact that Shelter cannot resist Sandstorm) and microing Shelter

With those tips:
Easy mode on

Only Norgu died once, cause he went outside Shelter range


PS. Melee vs lvl 40 foes, spamming Blured Vision (Water Born Titans), Using Armor of Earth+Conviction (Earth Born) or teleing out and KDing on every attack (Wind Born) or setting 6 different traps around them (Wild Growth) is terribad idea. I wouldn't even consider it. Sos works everytime with Siphon.
PS2. I didn't want to use cons. That's supposed to be a challenge and it was, thnx aNet.

Hmm I might try it on my war and as a war After all I always bring asuran scan, love this new skill now. I am unstoppable and SY as my 3 pve skills. They dont have much if any healing right?

Asuran Scan would overcome most of the limitations offered to melee chars by this quest... most but not all. Lvl 40 titans would get only a fraction of the dmg dealt by lvl 20 character vs other mobs

Yeah you'd basically just be a vector for splinter weapon, shatter hex, smite hex, ancestor's rage, strength of honor etc. while tanking AoE under prot. That's far from a bad thing.
