I have been having the same trouble! One strategy I have been trying to get going has been to focus on the same enemy as him. Perhaps save up the falcon punch from the smaller group for the first guy of the big group...then use the new skill you get for hardmode. Oi! I would also like some advice.

2 main issues im having is 1. the big falcon punch takes 5 sec to cast 2. the block doesnt get it done when several guys are pummelin ya plus a ranger that really puts a hurtin on ya.

any/A with dagger mastery at 12 (if going as A/any put crit strikes at max also)

Stalwart insignia (almost all the damage is physical with the exception of a small amount of burning that is pretty easy to tough out)

Thunderfist's brass knuckles with "furious," "brawn over brains," and "of shelter" mods - also customize them.

Use the mouse button and 8 key simultaneously to stand when knocked down.

The first few foes are the most difficult. Once you get past the first half dozen groups or so you can start pulling things apart.

Just beat it! The biggest thing that helped was running away like a little girl once Captain Falcon was knocked out. Just wait until he gets back up and attack the enemy he attacks. I was able to fight with 60 energy. Besides all of that, this quest has some pretty good drops.
