Hope for a wolf spawn down there or try to pull a frost golem to one of the ascalonian soldiers and use necrotic traversal or consume corpse. Shadow steps will not work. More information on the wiki page

Think it's also on the wiki: Sac a MM with fiends on the bridge and have the minions kill Rurik and his companions. When that's done NC down and follow the path.

Default Master Cartographer title: that last 9%

The last 9% for this title is driving me nuts. I've been perusing the maps, comparing them with maps on Guild Wiki, trying to figure out places that I've missed especially mission area where you're more involved with the mission than mapping. I've gone back and mapped the Charr area for the Northern Wall mish and so on. I went back and mapped all of the Ring of Fire islands, ummm... double checked Crystal Desert but I'm going to double check again.

I KNOW there are places I've missed and maybe there are some hard to see areas that others know about? Some tips would be handy about now.

are you doing this without texmod? if so, you're nuts with noble intentions which is admirable...if not, you should be

google texmod to get the freeware, download the .tpf file for eotn/proph, and map your little heart out!

Ugh... I googled texmod and while it sounds like a good tool I'm not touching it. I'll probably have to be happy with 95% at the most. This computer I use to play GW on is also the computer that holds all my work (I'm a writer) and although I backup my data, there is no way I'm going to potentially screw up my computer for a title. Even if the potential for a problem is small, I'm not going to risk it.

Texmod is 100% safe, so I don't know why you're worried

Texmod is safe, and even A-net doesn't mind its use. I can't think of one single story or account of it messing up someones comp. I've used it myself and it makes things much easier.

Same as above. And make sure to get all of the maguuma.
There are lots of missions that are hard to map, those were the hardest for me in proph.

I did the Cartography title WITHOUT Texmod, I had never heard of it at the time. I got the Legendary title by scrapping very very carefully each area as I VQ'd them, Scrapping EVERY TOWN and outpost, And following the Legendary Cartography guild on wiki.

The tips and glitch section of the guide was very helpfull in achiving 100% on all the campaings.

It can be done without Texmod, but I will use it if I do this title again......

9% and your're having troubles? It's usually only trouble with the last 3%.

Also, Texmod is safe, get it from the wiki though. Google might take you to a fake texmod.

9%?
I got to 90%+ on all 3 continents by vanquishing WITHOUT grinding ANY edges.
So if you've got 9% left, that means that you basically have to go and grind the edges of every single explorable area.
Or just use texmod, it's completely safe and really easy to use.

Falynn,

Check the sticky in this forum, it has most of the non-texmod information you would need.
I have posted up-to-date U-map screens there, so you can compare your U-map to those.
Furtermore it has a general exploration guide and a guide of frequently missed spots (those start to count at 98/99%).

Good luck with non-texmod exploration! (I'm happy to see some people are still willingly exploring without it)

Hug walls of outposts and maps. Oh and, check whether you missed an explorable of two.

I found a area in the Tanglewood that I didn't map so I went and did that. There was a huge area of the Falls that I missed entirely.

I'll continue to map without texmod and if I get frustrated enough, then I'll download texmod. I'm not frustrated enough and although the title would be nice, Im not going to kill myself over it. In the meantime, I'm going to check out Jos' U-maps and go from there.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Can anyone please look here: http://www.theyadas.com/images/area1.jpg

and tell me if this can be mapped? I know it is not an explorable, but I think there may be a glitch where you can get up there. In fact, I was trying to get that piece when I noticed theres a nice little trail on a ridge you can't access that leads to that little strip. If someone could please take a look and see if they got it on texmod I'd be very grateful!

You've got everything in that corner that can be mapped. The open area is a design glitch I never got around to fixing. It's added to the insanely long list of modifications that I need to make to complete the map, but can't seem to find the time for.

Are you using a texmod program? If not then you may have a very difficult time finding your last percentage. The texmod makes mapping super easy. I posted the info in this thread about where and what to download...
