Default The Triple Meteor Shower, and possible Quadruple

Before you say it, I know it's really not viable in actual pvp since an elem casting meteor shower becomes a blatant target of mesmers and rangers...but it's novel.

Requirements:
E/Me, at least 75 energy
Meteor Shower
Arcane Echo
Echo (Elite)

Casting Order:
Echo
Arcane Echo
Meteor Shower
Arcane Echo #2
Meteor Shower #2
Meteor Shower #3

Total Casting Time:
Showers: 5x3=15
Echo: 1x1=1
Arcane Echo: 2x2=4
Pause Between Casts: 0.75x5=3.75
Total: 23.75 seconds

This means, if you nailed the % chance of faster skill recharge, the 1st meteor shower might recharge 6.25 seconds after the last meteor shower is cast, meaning you can get a fourth one down in quick order, assuming you have the energy to cast it.

Why echo the arcane echo?

You could do:

Arcane Echo
Meteor Shower
Echo
Meteor Shower (arcane echo)
Meteor Shower (echo)

If meteor shower really is the focus of the build, then making it:

Fire Attunement
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Arcane Echo
Meteor Shower
Echo
Meteor Shower (arcane echo)
Glyph of Sacrafice
Meteor Shower (echo)

would be a little nicer on the energy, and it'd go a teensy bit faster as well. Fire Attunement shouldn't be counted in the casting time, as it can be put up a while in advance. Glyph of Lesser Energy can be cast before the combat actually begins as well.

I just can't see the build being practical in PvP though >.>

If the healers are dumb enough to stand next to each other it could destroy them with them not being able to do a thing.

Well, it'd take 2 people to be feasible to pin a single person for this, but sometimes you don't have a choice in the matter.

My water/air ele uses
Ice Prison + Maelstrom + Gale + Water Trident to keep a person pinned in maelstrom, and a monk that can't heal is soon dead. Unless there's another monk, in which case, 4 skills devoted to making on effective is usually a bad thing. However, all 3 other skills have their own merits, although with gale and water trident, I probably should have stuck with Frozen Burst or Shard Storm for the slow. (Maelstrom isn't used often enough for me to worry about the exhaustion from it, and gale is usually my only other exhausting skill in water/air)

With a second person using air, or air+earth, you've got a variety of knockdowns, most of which cause exhaustion to yourself unfortunately, to keep them pinned until the 3 meteor showers are all in effect at once, triggering one right after the other.
Gale, shock, ennervating charge+stoning, lightning surge, whatever.

Not really sure how pin multiple people with it though. No AoE snare to the best of my knowlege slows more than 50%, and that's usually fast enough to walk out of the AoE of the sustained spell. If slows stacked, it might be feasible, but the way it seems to work out is that the most effective run debuff takes effect only.

Actually I'd probably use these 8 skills

Fire Attunement
Energy Tap
Mantra of Resolve
Glyph of Sacrifice
Meteor Shower
Arcane Echo
Echo
[Whatever]

Fire Attunement obviously to alleviate the heavy energy costs, mantra of resolve, then put down echo, meteor shower, arcane echo, meteor shower, glyph of sacrifice, and meteor shower. You could squeeze in an energy tap after one of the meteor shower casts if you're too low on energy, I suppose.

Then again, as a really specialized build, it would fail terribly in practice.

Just something novel, is all.

I find two showers is more than enough on anything that isnt ranger or warrior. They do 100 a hit, and two hits em 6 times :S. Getting a bit on overkill eh>?.

It's a monk. You can never 'overkill' a monk.

I tried a AoE overkill based build a while back, Meteor shower followed by chaos storm follwed by fire storm. Incredibly useful for showing the enemy team that attacking the priest at melee distances wasn't a good idea. The biggest problem is that it's a lot of skills and energy expended with no garuntee of success.
