Default CRUEL - Upgrade Component Question

I found a CRUEL (Lengthens Deep Wound Duration on Foe) hammer but I'm wondering if that is going to be worthwhile on a hammer. I haven't found any Hammer skills that actually cause a deep wound...

Are their any hammer skills that can cause a deep wound or do you just get rid of a hammer like that?

In addition, what are some of the best upgrade components you all have found for swords? I like CRUEL, of Enchanting, and of course the +LIFE mods.

I'm weilding a rare 15-22 with some really nice mods but I'd like to turn it into a CRUEL sword. Sword components come in Pommel's and Hilt's if I remember correctly. Which one of those will carry the CRUEL mod?

This is my first post but I've been a regular reader for some months now. Great forum all around. I look forward to joining in the discussions.

Thanks

Cruel is a pretty worthless mod all around. Like most conditions, Deep Wound rarely lasts its full duration before being removed by cheap, spammable condition removal. Lengthening the duration it would last if it ran to completion really doesn't do much.

I believe that Crushing Blow is the only Hammer skill that causes a Deep Wound.

Cruel can be found on a sword hilt, an axe haft, and a hammer haft.

The best prefixes on a sword are Zealous, Vampiric (+3), and Furious. The best suffixes are Enchanting and Defense, and I guess Swordsmanship if neither of those matter even though it doesn't do much.

The upgrades that come with a weapon can be overwritten, so if they're bad a weapon still has the intrinsic value of its damage and rare modifier. If those are any good the weapon is worth keeping - otherwise get friendly with the merchant.

Peace,

I'll definately be holding on to the sword. Not logged in ATM but if I remember correctly it's:

Rare 15-22 damage
+13% damage while health is above 50%
+1 Swordsmanship (17% Chance)

There is another mod that I can't recall. I know you can replace mods which is why I'm so interested in weapon upgrades and their specifics.

This seems incredibly ridiculous to me but I saw a VERY similar sword auction off for 182,000 Gold on one of the MMO Trading sites. If I do decide to get rid of it, I know where I'm taking it!!!

Thanks for your reply. Looking into those mods now. Peace.

The price of a rare item depends heavily on the model, requirement, and the exact percentage on the rare mod. A +13% while health above shortsword might be worth a few tens of thousands - a +15% while health above fellblade is 1,000,000 gold, non-negotiable.

There are people out there with tons of money, and they like spending it.

Whats the difference between a fellblade and a shortsword with same stats? Just looks?

Yeah, just looks. But looks are what rich players splurge on, and it's reflected in the price tags. If you don't care about looks, just use collector weapons.

I can't say I've ever seen a fell blade. Mine is a HUGE blade with an oversized half-cresant rounded tip spiking out on either side. Maybe it won't make the big bucks on the auction block but it looks and performs hard core as far as I'm concerned.

Screw paying the big bucks for the pretty toys....that's called addiction people...lol.

Anywho, I like the idea of Vampiric +3 but I saw a site listing +5. Was that a BETA thing or are their actually +5's still out there?

Thanks

Vampiric swords and axes go up to +3. Vampiric Hammers and Bows go to +5, due to their slower refire rates.
