Default Platemail vs Knights armor

Knights armor has absorb dmg + 80, whilst platemail is has +85.

Is 20+ armor better than armor absorption? Why then do I see so many people wearing platemail? Just for the looks?

platemail is 80 + 20 vs physical... not 85 ('o')

and there was a good thread earlier... do some search... either use the search button or go back a few pages...

I've heard one piece of Knight's gives you the bonus for your whole body, so the best solution would be to wear Knight's boots and Platemail everything else.

The best Warrior armor in the game is Knight's Boots, Stonefist Gauntlets, Gladiator Chest and Legs. You can drop Stonefist Gauntlets for Gladiator's Gauntlets if you aren't using any knockdowns, but if you only want to own one pair of gloves make 'em Stonefist. You only have to use one piece of Knight's Armor to get the full benefit, so stick it in the least important place and forget about it.

Basically. Same with people you see in full Knight's, or full Ascalon. Statistically they're all inferior to Gladiators with Knight's boots.

Some builds get no benefit from Gladiator's armor. Namely, Warrior's Endurance builds, which gives you 3 energy every time you hit something but cannot raise your energy above 15. Is it awesome? Hell yes. Does Gladiator's Armor help? No, not at all.

Personally, I prefer Knight's boots, Platemail leggings and chest, Stonefist gauntlets if you use hammer or Platemail gauntlets if you use axe or sword, and then either Platemail helmet or Gladiator's helmet, depending on whether you use Strength of Tactics. I personally never wear the weapon skill helmets, because you get an additional bonus beyond skill +1 if you use Gladiator's or Platemail, and it usually isn't too hard to switch your skills around to keep the same point distribution.

The least, or tied with gloves for least. Then you take facing and equipment into account (Stonefists vs. Gladiator's Gauntlets, elevation, etc) and the boots are just better. You just need one piece for the full bonus, so you put it in the one place where your armor matters least.

85+10 physical. Sorry, you're wrong, I use platemail.

Anyways, 1 piece of knights with glads or platemail is best. Platemail has the better AR versus everything but physical (which you tend to take the least amount of damage from at this point in the game) but gladiators has a mana bonus. They're both good sets, but I prefer the extra 5ar for all on platemail.
