Recommended Ranger Gear for PvE & PvP
Hello. I was wondering what do you guys use for bows, runes, and upgrades for PvE and PvP. I'm looking for recommendations on which bows to use mainly and what upgrades to use on them from people with experience (since I don't have much yet -- and I don't mean experience as in in-game XP ).
I'm currently a level 10 R/Mo and I've acquired a Flatbow and Short Bow which I've been using a lot as opposed to a Longbow and the other types of medium to short range bows. I kind of dig the higher arc on the Flatbow.
For PvE, I'm wanting to put an upgrade on both of them for different occasions but to be honest I can't decide which upgrades to use. I'm wanting to mainly concentrate on using a bow as my main weapon and then using traps as well. I've been using Penetrating Attack, Hunter's Shot, Read the Wind, and Kindle / Ignite arrows often. I have two Ebon Bow Strings and I've been thinking of using them on each bow (Flatbow and Short Bow), since I hear good things about Earth damage and I like to use the Flatbow to lure and the Short Bow to finish them off with. I don't know if Earth damage would be wise to use with those two bows though (they will be my main ones), since I don't know what type of damage is best for most situations yet. Do you have any recommendations or tips? Should I use the Ebon Bow Strings on the bows or use one upgrade on one bow and a different one on the second bow? What do you guys use?
For PvP, I'm basically wanting the same. I just started to PvP a few days ago, so I'm not too keen on all the things that can be done Ranger-wise, but I'm reading up a bit. I'd want to use Distracting Shot and a few Monk smiting skills like Judge's Insight that I've been hearing a lot about. What kind of upgrades should I put on a PvP Flatbow and Short bow? Perhaps a Zealous Bow String? Do you guys recommend any other bows?
This is rather long, but I'm looking for as much info as I can get. I just want to be able to hold my own and learn as much as I can about my chosen professions. I appreciate any help.
