Ok I have found this little combo to help out quite a bit in many ways.
Here it is:

Ignite Arrows
Dual Shot

Ok first this is good for mobs that are attacking close together. First use ignite arrows, then use dual shot on a target. What you get is 2 arrows hitting 1 target so u get both base dmgs on that one target but then the Ignite Arrows does an additional bit of dmg for each of the arrows, this additional dmg is area so both arrows that were shot give anything around your target 2 things of area dmg.

to make it simpler its like this:

There are 3 grawls attacking together, you use this combo on one he takes 28dmg and 28dmg because of the dual shot then he takes another 9dmg and 9dmg for each arrow due to ignite arrows (adds to 18dmg). But this additional 18 dmg is area so each of the other 2 Grawls takes 18dmg also.

Hope this combo helps, it may not be great but it wittles away close together mobs.

I used to use this all the time, until I switched my secondary to Elementalist, and started using Chain Lighting.

If only when you used ignite arrows, apply poison, and dual shot the poison would spread from the ignite.

My R/E will typically be able to pull off firestorm/meteor shower then spam Barrage for a group like that...much more dmg.

Yes, that is a very good combo from Ascalon all the way through ~ Lions Arch. Used in those areas, your AOE will dominate. owever, most rangers move away from Ignite Arrows by the time they get to LA because a measly +10 damage per arrow isnt that great, even if you can fire 2 at time. Guarentee you will find a better combo sooner or later (for PvE, its hard to beat Barrage with Judges Insight)

R/Es shouldnt use any elementalist skills except conjure *insert element here* Rangers dont have the mana for stuff like meteor shower, because expertise doesnt reduce it.

Personally I think (haven't used it yet) a better combo would be Conjure Lightning/Fire/Ice plus Barrage would be better.

you could also use kindle arrow, conjure XXX and dual shot

or lay down a favorable winds, conjure XXX and barrage away

Yeah you can't really beat barrage for PVE after you get it. Still, I used ignite + dual all the way through maguuma, since I didn't really have a better combo as a R/W. But, I had no real trouble killing the spiders and such. I was seriously outdamaging the warriors in my party when I had tiger's fury or frenzy up and running. And those thorny things that stone you, are very susceptible to fire dmg, I killed them in about 2 bow attacks.

It's not that powerful really. IMO you're still better off to just use Kindle Arrows.

Personally I believe 1 of the better combos is just the simplest 1 wich is Poison the arrow + determind shot this is 4 1 on 1 on obviously 4 wider areas i tend 2 use metor shower though it does use a lot of magic its very effective and being a ragner u are not constantly tapping into ur magic bar anhow.
