Default Mursaat Bosses

Is there some kind of magical charm these guys wear that make them invincible once their health gets low? I can get their life down to about 1/4 in a matter of seconds and then all of a sudden they never take anymore damage. Eventually I lose because they slowly grind me down until I'm out of energy and out of party members. What gives? Do they have a:

+500000000000 Armor (when health is below 25%)

Probably just ran into ones using the monk skills such as Mark of Protection. I could be wrong though.

You're not alone. I find bosses such as Willa the Unpleasant particularly aggravating.

It pretty much boils down to a war of attrition... just keep going at it till they die.

This applies to all Mursaat bosses, also. They're EXTREMELY resistant to magic.

They must all have that skill because every Mursaat boss seems just as impossible to kill as the next.

Tell me about it. I groan when I drop a meteor shower on them and I see a -4 appear above their heads...

Good hex or condition: Gone in a couple of seconds, without special removal.

It takes Mantra of Persistance just to get any mesmer hex to last a reasonable duration.

It's most noticeable on Monks though, because not only do they have high armor, high health, decent attack power (For a caster, at least), and are very resilient to conditions and hexes, they can also go from near death to full life in a matter of moments, given the chance.

7 henchmen versus Willa the Unpleasant = stalemate.

Having repeated Ring of Fire to get Migraine 15+ times, I'm positive of the above. I ran out of energy trying to deal with Willa , and AFK'd for a little bit to recharge energy (A couple of minutes). Willa was still at 3/4ths energy, and perfectly content to stand around healing all day, when I got back.

The mursaat bosses are quite insane. They turn what would be 120-239 magic damage (if it was a regular mursaat) to 19-39 magic damage. And Willa the Unpleasant is in my opinion the toughest boss in the whole game.

Well they're level 28s and have the appropriate armor and high-level attributes (probably pushing the low 20s). Like all bosses, they have twice as much health and energy as you'd expect for the character, and all hexes and conditions fall off twice as fast. They aren't anything particularly special beyond that. Other level 28 bosses are comparable, in my experience.

Peace,
-CxE

So how come the level 28 non-murssat monk bosses are actually kill-able, even with henchmen? Murssat bosses have absurd armor values, and are much tougher than regular bosses.

If you are a W/mo just equip Symbol of Wrath and use it on Willa. He goes down pretty fast if more than one person is focusing on him and using it.

If you cant kill villa unpleasend in less than 5 minutes your team (or your setup with hencheman) sucks.

In that case you most recently still believe that this game is about max damage and I have to ask, how the hell could you ascend?

Well, that's a bit of a loaded question, because Mursaat bosses are killable with henchmen as well. That is, they're killable by *you* and henchmen - the Monk Mursaat requires a bit of extra love, but the others get beat down by seven henchmen.

As far as I can tell they're pretty standard for bosses - though they seem to take only half damage from attacks, which might explain the difference. I haven't tested PvE extensively.

Mostly I'd blame it upon their self-healing abilities. Unlike most other bosses, Mursaat bosses require some combination of damage and disruption, a complex offense that most pickups simply cannot handle. But beyond that I don't see a big difference. They die just like everything else under the wrath of my henchies.

Peace,
-CxE

murssat bosses other than the monks have never been anything special in any group that i've ever been in including me and 7 hentches. the monks are a whole different story although i should say it's difficult to rely on your 7 hentches and be the healer and expect a mursat monk boss to go down. there is one simple thing you need to do in order to kill a mursat monk and that is this. shater enchantment. that's it seriously that's all you need. any decent group should have the dmg output required to handle even endless orison of healing spamming (which they don't do if they're alone) as long as you can keep aura of faith off you'll be totally set. i have succeded in killing a mursat monk boss lvl 28 with just my character and 7 hentches but it did take quite some time. it is notable that i was a monk at the time with no offensive ablities equiped what so ever.
