Default What are some popular builds for Tomb?

Well since warriors are not very effective in tomb. What classes are?

Also what is the difference between Tomb and GvG and HoH?

Pardon me, I am kind of new when it comes to PvP other than the arenas.

Thanks in advance

Spirits, air gank, and smite. If you see a group running anything but that take a screen shot, because it would be a miracle.....

Tombs is the preliminary to HoH. If you win enough in tombs, you go to HoH (there is no set number).

GvG is guild vs guild and it requires both guilds to have a guild hall.

And warriors aren't useless in tombs. Only morons and inexpierienced tombs players feel this way (you fall into the inexperienced category--everyone has to start new sometime so please don't take that as an insult).

"Spirits" isn't a build. There's a wide variety of things you can do with spirits.

THANK YOU! I thought Warriors are weak in HoH because I was reading all those "Why do warriors get zero respect in Tomb?" kind of posts. I don't feel insulted. I am new to the pvp stuff. I am mostly interested in Warriors despite what people say.

THANKS

Warriors as a whole dont deserve much respect. Simply due to the fact so many bad players use them.

If there was a ratio of good to bad players for each class it'd go like this:

Warriors 10:1 (10 bad to each good one)
Rangers 5:1
Necro 6:1
Mesmer 7:1
Monk 3:1
Elementalist 5:1

Roughly, and obviously exceptional players (better than good players ) will be even rarer. Dont even bother quoting the ratio 'table' it's my opinion not a fact in any possible way.

It's just that for the most part people experiance more problems with warriors than other classes. Warriors are very 'shut downable' but at the same time most of the warriors who are shut down arent carrying their own anti-condition or anti-hex spell. That's the problem. That's where you get the Bad - Good ratio from.

I myself find it harder to meet good Elementalists as i think the typical Air ele who just spams spells and exhausts himself into oblivion is'nt going to help the team much Of course with an organised team that all changes with 3 or so Air elementalists but i mean the bad type : much like everyone refares to warriors in the same manner.

I wouldn't give monks that much credit. If I had a dime for every time I saw a monk using a pet or launching fire nukes..

Okay just some more bits of info.

Yes Tombs are the way to get to the HoH. It usually happens after 5-8ish wins at various places. EG there is just plain 8 on 8s, then there is 6 teams of 8 with preists etc, king of the hill style, capture the flag style. It usually gets harder bigger and more complex as you win more. Each consecutive win also gives you more fame each time.

Popular builds as said, spike, smite, and mass rangers ARE popular but not too effective...

They'll beat most PUGs (pick up groups, usually don't have much of a strat).

A good group needs mesmers, necros, and a warrior.

My favorite build is probably.

1 knockdown warrior/ele using backbreaker and aftershock.
3 monks 2 healing 1 prot.
2 eles using air magic for spike
1 mesmer
1 necro

One of these classes has to have a ranger secondary for frozen soil as well. The warrior calls targets and builds up adrenaline (possibly hitting a warrior or somthing that won't run around as much) once you get 10 adrenaline you call your target, usually a monk, cast backbreaker. Usually you'll be on Teamspeak or Vent so you'll do a countdown like 3 2 1 GO. On about 2 the necro will strip any enchantments and the mesmer will use blackout/backfire on the other monks. When the warrior says go everyone hits them with everything they have. The eles nuke the warrior uses crushing blow and aftershock etc etc... Lay down soil and you're done.

Wash rinse repeat.

Monks don't use res everyone else brings a signet. If you're dying more than that during a fight chances are you're f'ed anyway.

Monk
Mesmer
Necro
Ele
Ranger
War

General order of killing.

Okay so it's not a lot of info not a bit, it's just so effective, watching those 5:3 ele/mo groups against this is hilarious. It's just a massacure.

I bumped into an Asian man at the subway yesterday, he gave me a very nasty look. So in turn I began hating all Asians.

Pretty dumb huh?

MCS: I use devastating hammer instead of backbreaker because it takes too long to charge and I can follow up with aftershock + crushing blow (stonefist glove) then use heavy blow to knock him down + extra damage. I like this better than backbreaker.

Yah W/E is what I use and I like this build the most.

I use a furious hammer with For Great Justice! and berzerker stance.

I charge in no time.
