Okay, I have to be honest here - it's expectations like this that make me wary of playing the mesmer I just started. It's almost like I'm going to suck before I even get started LOL

Bad suggestion .... how many teams you know manage without a healer or have 1 healer healing 8 other people.

I can see it now....

"Oh your hexed.... never mind we dont need you just pop this flag there over the other side of the map...... see ya ... bye"

Never mind the monk, so long as you have a good mez on your side, you can shut them down. Mind about their mez, coz if he's good, he'll kill your monk fast.
UBER .... uuugh you my friend are on drugs.

This is a nothing statment... Let me summerise your *ramblings* in english.

Mesmer shutdown monks (Which has already been said.)

I had exactly the same problem with a Mesmer named "Monkie On Your Back." In PuGing, I also once encountered a R/W who used the name "Evil the Monk" to try to get easy invites into parties, then proceeded to aggro everything in sight, regularily. I'd love to be there to see this backfire on him in PvPing.

WRT the original question, I've always seen it as valuable to have a knockdown Warrior or Mesmer keep watch on our own team's healers, and try to fend off the culprits.

When being a mesmer, i find it the most annoying having a warrior on your tail the WHOLE game. Especially when your build is meant for shutting casters, and you have nothing to counter the warriors attacks, and all you can do is run.

Yes it is annoying, but if you see them you can cast Empathy, Backfire (depending on thier secondary), and Energy Burn. I'm running Earth magic as my secdoncary. Throw on Armor of Earth, Wards of Foes, and call the target, warriors drop like flies. The problem comes when they are ressurected I'm out of energy andthen Iend up running around like a chicken with my hewad cut off!
