Well, there are two types of monks: PvE and PvP

PvE: This is where you sit back and heal teammates. I personally use mostly heals along with aegis. For a ressurection I use Rebirth. It does drain all your energy, but the teleporting aspect is good when your trying to res your team wihout attracting aggro. Attributes like high divine favor, high healing, and whatevers left in prot.

PvP: This is much more complicated, as you won't be healing teammates as much as you will heal yourself. I like to play a protection monk for PvP alongside a healing monk. Consider mostly keeping yourself alive, using cheap self heals like healing touch and reversal of fortune and guardian. And I never bring a res into PvP, thats the job of your teammates to bring signets of res.

Hope that helps.
