Default E/mo Smiter ?? i don't get it HELP!!

Ok i have searched and looked but i can't figure out how to run a nice E/mo smiter.

I know the skills that should be brought, Ether renewal, B aura, Boon, Scourge healing, Smite hex, blah blah blah.... Ok what i don't get is i got these Warriors up my Monkey bum and Zelots fire and B aura is hitting me hard.

So me being semi-smart try it out and see if i can take out thouse pesky monkeys running around in Tombs. To my surprise i can't seem to find out how to work Zelots fire. Am i suppose to run around with the target with zelots fire on me and spam boon or do i get the warrior which i am using as a smite bomb to carry zelots fire and i spam Boon on him, both i have tried and my buddy the warrior says that he doesn't see the zelots triggerd and nor do I. B aura i see it trigger but not the zelots fire.

So how does it work, how does the warrior chasing me when i play monkey hit me with Zelots and B aura??

A Sad cry for help guys

When you have zealot's fire (a self-cast only enchantment) people around the target of your Draw Conditions take fire damage.

While you are enchanted with Zealot's Fire, everytime you use a skill on an ally (including yourself), all foes adjacent to that ally take damage.

For example,
You have Zealot's Fire on you.
You have a Mesmer ally who is being attacked by a Warrior, at close ranger, and a Ranger, at long range.
You cast Orison of Healing on that ally.
The Warrior takes damage, but the Ranger does not.

It works best if you've got lots of spammables, like Orison of Healing, Reversal of Fortune, Symbol of Wrath (interestingly, this spell targets yourself whenever you use it, so Zealot's Fire would do damage in an area around yourself if you have it up when you cast Symbol of Wrath). For the 25 energy cost of Balthazar's Aura, you could have cast 5 5-energy spells, which would set off Zealot's Fire 5 times, instead of just once. Of course, there are advantages to using Balthazar's Aura, as well.

In case you are confused, Divine Boon is a maintained enchantment that can only be cast on yourself. So, if you were trying to cast it on your ally, in order to proc Zealot's Fire, what really was happening was that you were casting it on yourself, proccing Zealot's Fire in an area around you, and healing yourself from Divine Boon's bonus.

The idea is just to cast Zealot's on yourself, then spam boon. Ether Renewal and others are just there to help regain the 7 mana per cast of Boon or to add a bit more damage. Either way, this is a melee-style build.

You usually only see teams running an E/Mo Smiter if they are also running warriors. A smiter with boon is ok... but he can't really chase down and effectively smite monks that decide to run. So, any smiting build, which seems to be popular these days.. will have Ether Rewnewal, Aura of Restoration, Zealot's Fire, Balthazar's Aura, and Draw Conditions. The rest of the slots can be used for whatever your build calls for (maybe Judge's Insight, or Wards).

The way it works is you keep zealot's fire and aura of restoration up on yourself. Then hit ether renewal, and throw balth's on a warrior and start spamming draw conditions on him. It's such a ridiculous energy engine that you're almost never going to run into any problems.

Welcome to broken enchantment removal- an issue since the beta. To those of you who complain that nothing changes, take notice. We went from one extreme (almost 0 playable enchantment removal) to an atmosphere where any enchantment (or hex) heavy strategy is penalized to the brink of oblivion.

None of this is new though, so if you're just catching up to us, welcome to the party.

Smiters are balanced IMO, boon and draw need not changes.

Nature's Renewal obviously does.

Diversion is the single skill my e/mo smiter (ether renewal, yada yada yada, but with Reversal of Fortune rather than Draw or Boon) fears more than any other, even more than Nature's Renewal.

Nature's Renewal, however, is obviously broken. Any word on when the next round of balance changes are coming to GW?

I'm referring to the numerous tweaks to skills in beta.

At the moment the only skills that look like they might need tweaking are Nature's Renewal (too big of an effect), Word of Healing (bugged?), and Blackout (abusable with Zephyr).

OT: While Nature's renewal is the skill that requires most consideration in any build, I think it applies greater balance to the game. Enchantments, especially multiple long lasting enchantments are the hardest thing to counter in the game (without NR). It is too easy to run a stupid enchant up and sit build (Life Barrier+Life Bond+Blessed Sig). Enchantments also make up some of the hardest hitting offensive strats. Preparations and Stances don't stack, but enchantments are the exception. Enchant and spam is too easy without the threat of NR.

Nature's renewal increases the risk involved in some of the games most devistating tactics forcing more balanced builds. I wouldn't mid a slight nerf in either cost or effectiveness of NR, but too much nerf will turn the game into Enchant Wars. As it currently stands, you can still run life barrier or Smite but these teams also need an answer to Renewal spamming or alternative playing styles against NR.

One skill shouldn't shape the game so much, but the community is responding well with answers.
