Drausius: Life Bond deals you half damage, minus ~25, only from attacks. In order to damage you at all, an attack has to do over 50 damage. The only things capable of doing this are amped-up Warrior attacks (like Final Thrust and such) against lightly-armored targets.

Thx for the reply. My only experience using life bond to help protect someone (in an experimental 2 man smite run) was used against aatxes. Hence my original question (because running life bond there = dead Drausius).

Thanks again for the reply!

Don't know of any solution better than that.

lessee. You need 15 energy to start the combo. Max energy capacity is 120. 10 energy degen over 31 second recycle is 103.3- energy. Energy returned during the 10 second Ether Renewal burst is (5*8-7)*10 = 330 energy.

Yeah, I can swing it.

That's certainly a solid theory, but carrying that out would be extremely hard, if possible. Do it and post a screenshot and I'll shut up.

As for the most enchantments that anyone has actually done, a guild mate of mine maintained 18 enchantments during an unrated GvG (we did the GvG just so that we could test it out - and the other guild wanted some practice). It was quite amazing to be honest - at one point I was tanking 3 warriors with ease (I was playing a monk). Unfortunately for the other team, they didn't have any enchant removal, so we won... rather easily. Chances are people have done more, but I thought 18 was pretty neat.

If you arn't attacking and only useing skills that target your allies (which most healers and protectors are doing) you gain +1 regen for at least half a miniute. This is one more enchantment or about 10 more energy which is 1-2 more heals (and this is at the lowest level for its linked attribute)
Peace and Harmony isn't terrible but it's only good because you can keep it on multiple monks (technically 2.5 with 20% enchant staff and max DF). +1 energy regen is crap compared to ether renewal, Energy Drain, and Offering of Blood.

I too would like to see this done. It's amusing as hell.

Maybe go to an area where there's a whole lot of NPCs and cast on them too. (Like outside of Yak's Bend, for example)

Do you have any other amusing builds like this up your sleeve Ensign?

This is a most impressive flurry of posts about massive party enchanting...

In PvP, Enchant removal outside Nature's Renewal is very very sketchy at best. Things like Shatter Enchantment, Rend, Strip Enchantment are all quite pathetic in terms of keeping up with enchant spam...

I think the only other weakness to these builds would be Well of the Profane... [shudder]

If your team doesn't have NR, then I'd say Enchant spam would be the 2nd best overpowered build in game behind spirit spam.

edit*

I know it's about pve but I'm sure it'd be quite lethal in pvp as well without Nature's Renewal. /salute

I've seen all the above used by dimwitted monks.
To put it bluntly, like you just have. Your the "dumbass" "moron" "dimwit" to make such a statement. Every skill has a purpose and to simply throw one out the window because it doesn't suit your build is lame. If we all used the same build this game would be very boring indeed and many of these skills are awesome if used in the proper context. Hell if I used the same build the whole game it would be boring. I rotate between about 8 different builds depending on what I am doing and who is with me.

Your gonna tell me Heal party sucks? When I generlly use that spell it heals for 640 or so health total (80 ea. player, 8 man party at AWESOME ranges even) ... what other spell heals for that much for only 15 energy? .... what other spell heals that much for ANY energy?? What other spell heals someone that you cant even see on your screen or radar? ...

and Heal area ..... 200 health to a stack of 10-15 minions makes necros want to bob your nob ... but of course thats a noob idea to you. Since your the all knowing of which skills are teh suck ...

as well as almost every spell/skill there you mentioned has a very usefull purpose. With the exception of rez signet ... that is made for non monks and a monk should bring a better rez if they are gonna bring one.

I use several of the listed skills in farming PVE with my buddy ... just a W/Mo & me as a Mo/R. When I do not attack Peace and Harmony is quite useful when I am doing that and maintaining 5-6 enchantments on the war .. including mending as well .. meanwhile he maintains 3-4 enchantments on himself as well (mainly smiting).
But of course your all knowing and these spells are crap. But whatever, I guess being able to tank 7-10 lvl 24 mobs at once with 1 character basically sucks then ..

Sure it isnt good in all situations .. If its a mesmer heavy map I'll bring spell breaker or something else (Regen shield can be nice too) but to strait throw a list of skills out and say they suck is completely ignorant of you and you discredit your whole post because it makes you look like a fool. Especially when you have such excellent character names as "The Nubanator". Yeah great way to earn readers respect. By being ignorant of skills potential and talking smack about players new and/or old. Your definately a winner imo. [/sarcasm]

Here's 24 maintained enchantments in Team Arena. Divine Boon is actually unneccessary, as you get all your energy back just from casting the normal enchantments. So you could fit in a 7th party enchantment if you really wanted to.

Peace,

So did someone come along with NR and "own you and your 18 enchantments"?

Well done. That's really quite impressive.

Now you should try for the full 49. I'd like to simply see that many on a screen.

Ensign has again showed how brilliant he is! I enjoyed Guru (and the gurus) from the beginning and take great pleasure in reading the forums, especially when Ensign comments or cooks up good stuff.

I doubt ( I bet!) Arenanet has individuals of his caliber on their team. Why can't they listen when Ensign speaks. Anet should do a search on Ensigns posts now and then. They then would have a more balanced game today. His last post is just an extension to the Zealot farmer post he made back at TGH in January or was it December ?

If I remember correctly he might have pissed them off last year or was that Saus ? And Saus is not posting very heavily lately is he ?

Again, keep em coming Charles, and people keep boosting Ensigns ego, stroke him and kiss up, because it seems the best way to improve Guild Wars.

My guild tried a different approach to this.

http://www.acidfingers.com/hosted/enchanttry2.JPG

Although he hadn't put the enchantments on one of the guys since he had recently died and lost all his enchants.

It was cool though, because I maintained a few enchantments myself as a warrior:

http://www.acidfingers.com/hosted/huge-enchantments.jpg

IT was really funny watching our main enchanter's character, because since he essence bonded everyone and life bond everyone+balthazar's spirit he was glowing nonstop from the minotaurs hitting him. We thought that about 30 or so minotaurs were needed to maintain against a -10 energy regen, but it actually turns out that about 6 or 7 would do. So, that was pretty interesting to find out.

So that's probably a record for enchantments maintained by a warrior right there :-) go me!

Hey Chuck, why not use both +15/-1, since degen is capped to -10 anyway ??

Well for that pic I didn't have the attributes for +15/-1 foci, so I just grabbed an insightful staff of enchanting. I guess I should have pumped up Protection enough to get a focus there, then just used a wand unlinked.

It really doesn't matter though. Once you get going you'll go infinite even on a ~90 energy capacity, and in combat you can forget about the Renewal entirely.

Peace,
-CxE
