You know, what if oath shot doesn't hit? You are screwed. What is that NON elite skill? If it hits it strikes for (+?)* damage, if it misses your skills are recharged. Get a flatbow at decent range on a moving target. The fact that if oath shot is blocked, dodged, or evaded can be a thorn in the side of a spirit spamming team.

Now let's see, with barrage, 5 (-expertise) energy for (at the very least) every 1.3 seconds (halfmoon/shortbow/tigers fury). Extra say, 13 damage each attack (12 marks?). Poison arrow, 8 damage every second, for around 15 seconds at a one time cost the same as barrage. If removed, can be spammed more than any condition removal. Now, suppose they use healing breeze or some sort of health regen spell. True, poison is negated. Yet it also means less regen, so more damage from other attacks. The barrage damage would easily be soaked up anyway with a decent healing breeze/ troll unguent. I was in a particular 4v4 fight vs one of those solo builds, after about 5 minutes of everyone hitting 5's, I just used poison arrow followed by hunters shot, 7 arrows of degen, before he knew what hit him he was dead before healing breeze was cast. Barrage = t3h suck, in this scenario. The other team really wont be bunched up long enough to make any more of a difference than ignite arrows. Now, kindle arrows is a big part of my damage. I'm not trying to mildy piss off a few guys, i'm trying to kill a single target in a matter of seconds (which I usually do). So in conclusion, barrage = t3h suck for PvP. (just my opinion)

Edited last part, you don't know me and can't hear my tone of voice. Could appear highly offensive to some.

lol everyone is sensitive as to whether they are coming off as offenseive now.

Death via health degen is rare and usually only happens to monks who wuxk or are screwed anyways. I am advocating barrage in 8v8, where its full potential can be realized. I already went through the list of things it can do for you, including be a good source of damage. People DO clump to a certain degree in 8v8. If they try to unclump, they must all move, where as only you need move to reestablish a good firing angle to resume barrage ownage.

Im not sure how you compare poison arrow to barrage, they are 2 completely different skills. Similar spammability is just about the only thing they have in common. The one thing Im wondering is, are you just theory-crafting or have you actually played in tombs? Usually inflicting conditions only GIVES the enemy health. For example, a series of events likely to ocurr.

Ranger poisons enemy A.
Enemy Prot Monk X casts mend condition on Enemy A.

You have lost 2 energy, the monk spent 5. He reagians mana faster especially if he brought offering or drain etc, so its a fairly even energy trade. You inflicted maybe 30 damage with the bow, and inflicted poison which was on there for maybe 2 seconds = 16 more damage. He then gained ~70 +DF from mend condition. Congratulations, you have made a negative contribution to your team.

Condition STACKING is even worse. Mend Ailment is just too good. So to use the words used by about 3 different people thus far in this thread, Mend Ailment/Condition = t3h owned. Honestly Poison Arrow is my all time least favorite ranger elite. For the reasons I just mentioned.

Barrage has to weakness whatsoever to mend...

Barrage is a decent skill for a Ranger in PvP. It would be best for Tomb altar maps, where people bunch up the most.

barrage sucks lets face it :\.

How funny would it be on an alter with like 3 rangers using barrage+QZ. GTFO MY ALTER.

It's really not that barrage sucks it's that the other options are better. Even if it's a secondary elite. Barrage just can't compair in PvP.
