Default New Flavor of The Month

This warrior build just destroyed our spirit spamming build in 2 minutes

War/Necx7

Plauge Touch/Fear Me!/Victory Is Mine!/ Thrill of Victory/ Sever Artery/ Gash/ Hamstring / Sprint

Ran/Necx1

Oach Shot/Natures Renewal/ Winnowing/Dark Fury/Troll ungent /....

Basically they came in and just started hitting us with there tactic attacks, they drained all our energy pretty damn fast.....

The Ranger would use natures renewal, then drop dark fury... he was pretty far back. Basically He would eliminate all our protection and hexes while then dropping his FULL TEAM enchantment DARK FURY which doubled the warriors addrenaline!!!!!

Then they basically spammed us so bad with Fear Me! and conditions that is was crazy. Basically wearing us down adn conditioning all of us.. then they would regen health using Victory is Mine! which gave them like 10 energy and 150 health each.

I think some had axes to spread different conditions.... anyway the build was insane. complete energy denial! complete damage! and complete control....

This should be the new flavor of the month! Warrior time :P

The flavor of the month has to be an easier build to run...that build actually sounds good

Or sympathetic visage or soothing images, or...what ever.

Good job to who ever made this build.

I think Fear me was the major killer here.

But yeah don't underestimate Ward against Melee and with disease being so popular martyr is a must.

I don't think large warrior groups will ever come back in style unless AoE Eles come back... Ward Against Melee is a pain =/

Ofcourse, people could stop getting lazy and actually pick up a Mesmer...

Yea that, along with Tainted Flesh spam is why I'm wondering why no one was running Martyr.

That build actually is decent...
Sympathetic Visage and Soothing Images are partly countered by Natures Renewal, and each warrior really should take Seeking Blade, Swift Chop or Irresistible Blow.
The key is just the Warrior Heavy and use of mass shouts. Victory Is Mine doesn't usually do much, but in a build like this it is really worth it. I can see how Mass Fear Me's would hurt too. It's good for taking out spirit spammers, but I think other groups will still be able to finish this sort of thing off.

Irresistible Blow, Seeking Blade and Swift Chop cant punch through a Ward. Sure you'll get a guaranteed hit, but it's not consistent. With a Martyr guy on the opposite team they'd be hard pressed to gain health back without backup heals. They would last well vs basic Fertile Season spammers, which is how they crushed teams with Fear Me! abuse by winning a war of attrition quickly.

Tainted Flesh isn't something that most Tombs groups' Putrid necro is carrying or anything, either.

Sympathetic Visage, somebody has to have it. Turn that shit right around into massive adren denial, woopie.

Like everything else, if the group is organized enough they can avoid SV, but it'll seriously, seriously slow their offense in conjunction with Aegis and WaM. The short of it is, current spiritgroups have alot of oversights - I've actually been having alot less trouble taking those out than with any other group (short of the mass minion masters, those guys sucked).

The fact that they are necros brings in the concept of them running rend and hitting their targets with rigor mortis.

The SV doesn't need to be on the target when he's first hit - they're trying to build adren on him after all, and the moment SV drops and gets bashed on thats massive area adrenaline damage. I'm sure they're using Rigor Mortis - but RM is a 10 energy 2 cast (x2 for natures) vs 5 energy 1 cast and unaffected by natures counter. Meaning nice if you coordinate it, but technically a steep, steep uphill battle.

Sword warriors arent bad at all for PvP. You just need to put buffs on them and learn how to coordinate Final Thrust spikes.

There are problems with having builds and strategies that rely on one thing only, and that is that they are very easy to counter. A matyr monk would mean their healing stops, then its just a matter of killing them 1 by 1. They also rely wholly on physical damage (and bleeding), so wards or stances (phys resistance) can fairly easily handle that.

Having said this - guild wars requires a large amount of luck, to counter a heavily warrior based build, you need to have the right spells & skills - if you take these and then you come up against a spike team for example, you may get owned. It's just really luck of which build you decide to counter vs. what build you come up against.
