why it doesnt work in pvp
: as ppl have said, it takes away too much energy. not only is this true but it could also not work at all if the person puts on a monk protect elite skill like mark of protect. also, in pvp, it is all about being able to keep going for long time with same amounts of dmg, as ppl rez others all the time. this is why elems classically dont do well in pvp cuz they waste their energy on killing one person very well and assureadly, however the person they just killed will be rezzed like 4 secs later back to 100% hp and 25% en. this is why i think necs, overall are the best general profession to use in pvp because they can use soul reaping. soul reaping allows my N to go for such long lengths. sry but this build is not exactly appicable to pvp. there are easier ways of pulling major area of effect dmg in a hoh setting.
Thank you.
I was thinking mostly about my experiences in UW and FoW when I thought this up.
I'm glad to see that some people in the Galdiators' Arena are not only concerned with PvP.

Sorry, let me rephrase. Those who are good at this game really don't care about pve.

About your build, spiritofcat:

The rate at which your damage is dealt is too slow to be a spike (what you're comparing this to, the Air Gank). You see, what makes the Air Gank work is that the damage comes instantly, and if the enemy team doesn't disrupt your air elementalists, it's more or less an instant kill. Here, you spam Mind Burn - which has a 1 second cast time and an aftercast of .75 seconds, meaning that between mind burns you have nearly a 2 second wait - if the monks aren't drunk it's very easy to heal in between, the amount of energy the monks use healing will be less than the amount of energy you expend, and now your elementalists are stacked with exhaustion and have so many now useless skill slots while the enemy team still has its offense intact. Who is the real winner? Sure, you could use it with a bunch of elementalists to create a coordinated Mind Burn spike but then how is this any better than standard spike strategy using whatever popular high-damage spell there is?

The amount of raw damage you put out through casting that spell have extraordinarily high drawbacks. You burn away so many skill slots, use up so much energy, and gimp your elementalists with that exhaustion, which takes forever to go away, making the damage unsustainable.

I also highly recommend simply scrapping the idea. The foundation is very flawed.

Also: the "no one cares about PvE" comments refer to the fact that being good in PvE is much much easier than being good at PvP. Thus, being good at PvE means nothing as you could still be a bad PvP player, while a good PvP player is much, much more likely to be good at PvE.

"EXPERT LVL 20 ASCEDNED ECHO NUKER LF GOOD GROUP FOR UW RUN PM ONLY"

That's all I've seen this used for. But it is ingenous the way you are chaining the spells!

You know what would be nuts...

Arcane Echoing + Echo + Arcany Mimicre an allies Oath Shot.

Yay! Now I can quadrulple-tap all the rest of my skills! XD I can't think of any worthwhile to actually to with that, but it'd still be crazy.

Time to recite a story:

"I once met a trap group,
They stood there like a fruit,
I was like LOLOL LEZZ GO GETH DEM,
They were still standing like old friends,
And then we rushed in, glory gory glory,
And then we died horribly,
Because the traps,
Made us crap."

They lined up like 40 traps for us.

iirc arcane mimicry only copies spells, not things like bow attacks (oath shot). But i haven't tested it....

In that case you could mimic the echo instead of Oath shot.

To triple any skill, you use Arcane Echo then Echo. So Arcane Echo copies Echo. You have Echo (from Arcane Echo), Echo (currently being used), and the third skill (in this case, Oath Shot). You use Oath Shot, and Echo copies it. So now you have Echo (from Arcane Echo), Oath Shot (from Echo), and Oath Shot (already used). You put up the Echo that's left, use Oath Shot again, then use the last Oath Shot that was Echoed. There, 3 of the same skill in a row. Not at all efficient, but if you really insist on using a skill 3 times in a row, that's how you would do it.

ha ... thats funny ... now come on Eonwe ... you have to admit pve is incredibly fun and easy to power through like a freight train gone wild ... no matter what class you are. I actually went to cap one of the 4 ele skills that I still needed (still havent wasted my time on mind burn ... I just can't see me using it personally ... not bad skill ... but not in my bar) anyways and it was kinda funny just rolling through and capping in like 30seconds to a minute ... it was done so fast

just a note that pve is kinda humorous. I think its funny... we were both front line healing smiting monks...

Too many U/W, fissure xp runs, farming, etc is like too many beer ... after the intial few it's all the same.

***** NOT TO HIJACK SO BACK ON OP TOPIC *****

Exhaustion is bad ... B - A - D ... never have it unless utterly necessary .. nothing like waiting for rocks in pve and hearing ... 'just wearing off my exhaustion' ... *sigh*

You idea is plausible and tripling up oon something ... I just dont see the use for it on l33t skillzors like mind burn. Try and go lighter like hell ... steal your neighbors e-drain, and gain some of your energy back. triple up and steal 48 from 1 or 32 from 1 and 16 from the other.

'Straight glyphs ftw'

Default Quadruple skill is possible too...............

Idea for PvP, I can't think of a counter for 5-8 N/Me's using triple Vampiric Gaze. N/Me's can have 60+ energy, setup for a triple vampiric gaze may push that limit, but they would also cast Blood Ritual on each other, the vampiric gaze would heal health back. If a teamate falls, one guy in the back of the line would carry Well of Power. All would use Vengeance as their revive. If this were set up, it would nullify all enemies skills involving remove enchantments and remove hex since there is none involved. A triple vampiric gaze in the skillbar with a 20/20 recharge would be constant (lol) vampiric gazes at range. I think vampiric gaze tripled by 5/8 with maybe E/x's that carrry ether renewal that can be Arcane Mimicried is unstoppable since there is no defensive counter other than unusally high spike healing (who carries that?, 20% of groups maybe?).

Another possibility that arises is a Quadruple skill. If you Arcane Mimicry your allies Echo {E}, then you could have 2 echos in your skill bar. A quadrupled skill would probably have to cost 5 energy to be usable.

Another good idea for a triple skill is lightning strike, since it's cheap and a 5 second recharge. This has been mentioned before but would be worth trying.
