Bring a talented and sexy mesmer/monk instead

I was in a tomb pug once where they were using Light of Dwayna AND Revive Animal in a mostly BeastMaster team. Yes at first I was all like but it was actually a pleasant change of pace

Light of dwayna is by far the best rez... especially on an E/Mo It works well on monk secondaries too. 25 energy is a small amount if you even rez 3 people. Well worth it and its a fast cast. 2 people is decent enough cause its all at once.

Well... some posters seemed kinda mean, as if I should automatically know this and be able to assess the skill all by myself, having not had TOO much experience in the tombs. I always look for a way to get better.

I'm a girl by the way. Maybe an oversensitive one...

I was near crying when Scaphism was kind enough to make me feel better. It sounds like vengeance on a /mo would be cool. Signets are nice too I guess.

Thanks for the input...

This is the most concise and useful advise about Res Signets that you can get. Figure out how many deaths you think you can absorb in a fight and still win. Put that many Res Signets into your team, starting with the most durable and least likely to die targets, the Warriors and Rangers. In 8v8, this number should be around three for good, orgniazed tems - for most sketchy teams and random PUGs I'd bump this up to around five (one on every non-Monk character).

In team arena I like two Res Signets. For random arena, every non-Monk should have a ressig.

Yeah, that skill is useful if you're running a Necro/Edge bomb build, for the character that stays out of range then runs in to quickly res everyone. Outside of that, no, I've never wanted it. If I'm using a hard res, it's because my team has been wiped out and I'm the last one left alive because another team ran in to occupy the team that beat me. If that's the case any hard res will work just as well.

To sum it up: 3-5 Res Signets in 8v8, 2-3 in Arena. One hard res on a hard target if you've nothing better to do with the slot. Never put any sort of res on a Monk.

Peace,
-CxE

Unyielding Aura/Vengence cast faster than Frozen Soil, which doesn't matter since they work with it down, and bring the dead back to 100%.
Curiosity demands I double check: Is this really true? Frozen Soil doesn't prevent those two "temporary" ressurections?

I've probably had Vengeance in Arena before and not used it with Frozen Soil out because I didn't think it would work.

no no no no .... this is not a good thing to contradict. This is pvp common sense. please keep pve thoughts out of pvp battles. rebirth is effectively giving the other team an energy upper hand. That equals your loss.

Please use common sense here guys. Monks are critical to winning and losing. Rebirth kills your energy .... bringing rebirth for a 'conditional use' is a WASTE of a slot and you are not using it right. Vengeance ... dear god no ... strip enchant = dead ... or better yet ... kill you = your whole vengeance res'd mates dead. Sorry guys but this is not an argument it is common sense.

why is this so hard to comprehend ... 9 out of 10 teams gut rush your monk and drop him within the first 20 seconds (giving pugs alot of credit here cause most die within the first 10) ... if you counter number one you did well pat yourself on the back and watch out cause number 2 spike comes instantly after. Ensign painted the picture ... and in all honesty if anyne defends rebirth ... don't waste time in the tombs playing a monk because you will ...
NEVER MAKE A SOLID BUILD IN YOUR LIFE WITH REBIRTH!

Its non - negotiable ... critique is hard to take but please be happy when it comes because it will only make you stronger.

Playing a monk i bring Rez Sig 99.9% of the time. It is well posible most of the time to find a 4 second window use the sig when everyone else ran out of it.

8 sigs > 5 sigs.

Holy moly, Stumpy, take your ritalin.

It's fine to state your case, but things aren't obvious to new players. Telling people to use common sense about things they've never really dealt with is just mean.

It's not obvious to everyone that energy management wins or loses the match. And that's not even completely true: It's mostly just *monk* energy management that matters *so* much.

No one has really claimed it's hard to comprehend, so don't act like it's required that it be beat into people's heads. Some players just lack the experience, which is why they are coming here for wisdom. Not to be yelled at.

im not that great of an 8v8 monk, and ive noticed that when i take the time to use a sig i have to do some major spam to make up for the down time. the only problem is the resing in pugs is really shady at best, and im afraid if i dont no one will. so all in all, ill try switching out my res if i go with a good team, but if im in with a crappy group ill stick with the res sig.

funny story - i was in 4-4 (random) and we get this monk. so like the monks just standing there the entire fight, and were like wtf lol do something. then one of us dies and s/he starts using rebirth... we won the first fight (sadly). then in the second they went for the monk first (no idea why they didnt do it in the first) and duh they drop her/him, so s/hes like "omg noo there goes my plan! i was gonna rebirth all if you!"

yea it was funny until we got owned

that persons skill bar probably only had rebirth in it

Who cares about the 'out of harm's way' Rebirth still sucks. Res signets still kickass.

Unless you have a me/mo who you made just for ressing with fast casting and restore life or something like that.

In my experience, there are only two types of rezzes that are actually "useful"

Fastcast Rez
And Rez Signets.

That doesn't work. Res sig is a ONE off despite the skill combination.

And a perma res Glpyh OF Sacrifice + Light of Dwayna Or Restore life is a nifty combination. Though only if you're going to get some other use out of that glyph.

Fast cast Memsers or Warriors with Monk as secondary are way better in ressing. If you don't have any, a Monk could bring one, but it just takes too much time.
