Exclamation I M A G I N A T I O N

The un-friendliest 11-letter word you'll find in Guild Wars. Please, respect at least a shred of this lovely word to give other people who actually have it a chance when trying to make a group. There is no "one path" in this game, yet in a flash of ignorance and stupidity, 80% of the people who play this game think there is, indeed, only one way, one build, one "path". So, in a last feeble attempt to try and bitch-slap some acceptance into a few people, I hope some of you will start giving new ideas a chance when grouping before you proceed to shun and stereotype an idea "outside the box". Thank you.

Me/Mo Healers ftw.

Just joking, those who do not have IMAGINATION are players you should not party with.

EDIT: For those that wish to try new builds, find a core bunch of PvP buddies, and just play new builds and see how it is. Not everyone is a bad player.. you know.

If a build is terrible, but creative... it's still terrible nonetheless.

And if a build is creative and good? Who knows how many of those there are out there, unfortunately we'll never scratch the surface if people are so insecure about even giving them consideration past their "only (insert FOTM here) is good and anything else blows".

You really need to get some PvP buddies to play with. And being pessimistic won't help.

As Eonwe said, if a build sucks but is creative it still sucks. Oftentimes you don't have to test something to get to that conclusion. Play Theory Wars before playing Guild Wars if you think your build is good.

No, because Ele/Warriors need to conserve energy for Frenzy spam while wanding.

Its not even a matter of theory, I can throw the numbers out to people all day long, yet they'll still over-rule the build just because it strays from the norm. Ever try using a pet in Tombs for example? Even now with pet run-speed increased, they're still one of the best "damage over time skills" in the game if your already planning on going the route of beastmastery (for tiger's fury and what-have you). Will most others take the numbers into consideration? No, they'll just gawk and shun you for even bringing a pet in the first place. Thats the kind of thing I'm talking about, ignorance even when the numbers are right.

i have seen a number of pet builds in tombs recently, and i have 2 main problems with them: 1 it wastes a skill, and 2 you get blacked out when the pet dies. and although you may argue that no one will target the pet, with smite builds so popular now it is feasible for a warrior to intentionally sit near the pets and let BA/zealots kill off the pets (no one heals them anyway). this causes a kind of massive blackout and the rest of the team falls pretty fast. i think the uh... transformers guild used that build and no offense to them but we were owning them, until it just so happened that we were down liek 2 players because of frozen (they had like 3 or so players left) and they all resd on the altar. (WITH those dam pets). the rest was short and swift, but if it was a standard UW map im sure we would have won.

(btw that was in the courtyard map)

Any creative build that's good becomes the new fotm. If it's not good, then it gets shifted to the side. gg

Uh... New "out of the box" ideas are given a chance they are tested and if they fail they are tossed aside or tweaked.

Spirit spamming was an "out of the box" idea and it became popular because it worked.

Why is this thread here, did someone bash you for posting a bad build?

Pet builds suck. They can take halls but not win it. They are for fun only imo. If you're build is playing a pet build seriously you need to go play PvE

Reasons why pet builds suck.

They take a skill slot.
They will die easily even to simply AoE from random smites.
The monks on your team will not heal them.
If the monks do heal them then they aren't healing a player.
When your pet dies you get blacked out and hes dead forever.
If he isn't dead forever then you've wasted another skill slot to res him.

no pets rock.my guild uses a build with 5 pets, although we let them die,and it works really good.not saying the build but we send in the pets as bombs just to get them killed with death nova on them.we got to hall with it,killed one team there and then lost.9 wins before the hall.
