well this is my ranger/monk build in the arena's hope guys like it

get expertise at like 12-14
beast mastery 5-8
marknsmenship 10-11
wilderness 10-12

skills:
kindle arrows
duel shot
whirling defences
troll ungeunt
dust trap or favourible winds or throw dust
watchful spirit
predatory seasons
res sig

u will use a short bow 15-28(pvp)
15% while enchated
vampriic 5/-1
and +30 health
(all can be unlocked)

this build will let u spam duel shot with the kindle arrows due to the high expertise = 4-5 energy per duel shot
doing 60-100 smg on shots to mesmers monks and ele's and rangers and necro's and about 20-50 dmg to warriors (strong armor)

and the vampiric 5/-1 + the predatory seasons with duel shot and kindle arrows (that u should have on always)
will give 36 health on hits and u can have whirling defences and troll ungeunt as u'r extra defence + u can use traps another spirit or even another attack mabye poisen arrow ...... well hope u guys like it and plz tell me what u think.

Forgive me if I'm overlooking something, but I don't see the point of having Watchful Spirit on this build. Regening 2hp per second is nothing when you're using a vamp bow and Predatory Season. You'd be much better off raising Smiting for Judge's Insight.

Also, I'd recommend trying to fit Tiger's Fury in there somehow. And I'd drop Dual Shot and take Quickshot instead so you won't get the damage reduction on your arrows like with Dual Shot.

nope u get double the healing with duel shot + watchful spirit gives u an extra 1 health regen making wilderness (at 12) troll ungeut combined =10health regen

+ the judges insight requries a few attrbutes and watchful spirit requiers none

I seriously doubt if 2hp per second is worth the -1 energy pip you pay for it, plus it's taking up 1/8th of your skill bar for basically nothing. If you're getting hit, 2hp per second is a drop in the bucket. If you're not getting hit, then your losing 1 pip of energy for literally nothing.

Between Troll Ungent, Predatory Season, and a vamp bow, you should be doing fine in terms of health. If you've got a monk too, you're set. But if you're taking serious fire and those other precautions aren't saving you, 2hp regened per second is a total nonfactor.

As for your bow attack, let's compare:

Dual Shot 10 energy, 0 cast, 5 recharge Shoot two arrows simultaneously at target foe. These arrows deal 25% less damage than normal.

Quickshot {E} 5 energy, 0 cast, 1 recharge Elite. Shoot an arrow 2 times faster than normal.

Your current build doesn't have an Elite, so QS doesn't conflict there. So it comes down to:
A) Shooting 2 arrows in a row, each doing 25% less damage, for 10 energy once every 5 seconds, or
B) Shooting 2 arrows in a row, each doing full damage, for 5 energy once every other second.

The choice seems obvious to me, but by all means go with what you like.

I recommend TF as well. You are already boosting Beast Mastery up to 5-8, so I would drop Watchful Spirit or Troll...in fact, I would drop both of these skill (I detest Troll U).

Edit: And Effigy is right, you need to fit an Elite in there.

TF is a *must* in any prep build (IMO).

Just a question: Does the Vamp Mod give 10hp when using Dual Shot? or what about Barrage?

Read Here Before Posting About Builds

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there guys and girls,

This is just a quick heads-up to anybody thinking about posting a builds-related topic in this forum, and I'd just like everyone to know that I'm growing tired of moving at least thirty threads per week from this forum for being off-topic.

Please only post about builds in this forum if you're discussing and/or asking about the strategy of a build, ie. its role in PvP/PvE, how it can support other classes, and so on.

If you're discussing and/or asking about the technicals and specifics of a specific build, ie. its stats, strengths/weaknesses, how to farm with it, and so on then please post in the forum entitled The Campfire (Build Discussion).

Thank you.
Just a reminder

Pretty sure it's per arrow, the same way zealous strings+barrage can be so hot. I don't see why a vamp string would act differently than the energy counterpart.

This is coming from someone using a R/Mo build...lol...j/k...

Anyways, I didn't really go through too much what you said cause it's just to much to wade through your broken english to understand what you're saying. But I didn't choose R/Mo for myself for the self heals, but rather for Judge's Insight.
