I will avenge you whenever pets die, the rest you can put in what you want. Some teams like to run 2 monks. I'm assuming the necros in that build have either orders or wells or all of them to buff the warriors.

There's also Predatory Season in there.

We just got rolled in tombs by a team with this combo. They charged right from the start and we were 3 down before we could go OMG PETS?!?! The damage they do is the opposite of the traditional spike damage we're all so used to preventing. Its lots and lots of little attacks spread over multiple targets. I guess stuff like Healing Seed will drop pet teams dead, but the element of surprise was lethal.

i have won hall of heroes with this build but we had 7 war/r and only one n/mo. the thing about this build is that it is very hard to hold an alter because you dont have enough healing for the ghost. that is why some builds might use 2 monks. we just play it as a good way to earn fame and faction not thinking about winning halls. and to the post above, healing hand wont really help i have seen it cast and all you need to do is target some one else.

I personaly think that this is a great anti smite its funny watching smiters actually help us by kill the pets right off the bat.

in the second beta i enjoyed a simular build, the element of surprise was a lot bigger because baerly anyone knew more than 20 skills and we just ripped trough one team after another.
You simply bane this build with Greater confluguration

Order of Pain or Order of the Vampire (the latter would help in staying power) can really augment their DPS. Other than that, they tend to use Heal Party (high Soul Reaping nets the necessary energy) to even further enhance staying power of the warriors.

Yeah this is the "I will Avenge You!" pet build and looks to be the next FotM. It counters smiters fairly well (they can't avoid killing pets.)

Greater conflaguration doesn't gimp the build, any good necro would be taking both an order and dark fury (double adrenaline on axe warriors mean double the spike.) Plus once the necro goes down all the warriors have usually gotten "I will avenge you" going and become pretty hard to kill at that point.

The W/R tend to run:
Eviscerate
Executioners Strike
Penetrating Blow
Axe Rake
I will Avenge you
Sprint
Charm Animal
Rez Sig

The necros from what I have seen mainly use:
Order of the Vampire
Dark Fury

They probably have blood ritual and some sort of self heal to help sustain the spam. This build is even easier to do than smite so is very likely to catch on. Also good builds have a necro with martyr.

Strengths:
-High damage output
-Very strong on relic runs
-Only soft targets are usually far away
-Extremely easy to do, just hit I will avenge you and attack something

Weaknesses:
-Low healing outside of I will avenge you
-Weak on Altar maps (can possibly be minimized with strategy)
-No hex removal, sometimes no condition removal

Probably the best counter would be stacking them full of hexes. Especially snare hexes. An illusion/inspiration mesmer running Crippling anguish, Conjur Phantasm, Mantra of Persistance, spirit of failure, imagined burden, energy tap, and soothing images comes to mind.

Scratch penetrating blow. They use Tiger's fury. Pet builds are incredibly fun to use but incredibly stupid. You can't hold halls for any length of time but you sure as hell can take them

Actually, healing seed alone isn't enough to drop these teams. A lot of the attacks that these warriors land outdamage seed (I've scored 102 on an eviscerate, so that's my record--70+32).

How can the necros stay far away though Warskull? Anyone know the range for "nearby"?

Dark Fury (availability)
Description: Sacrifice up to 17% max health. For 5 seconds, the next time any nearby party member hits with an attack, that party member gains one hit of adrenaline.

ok i was playing this build like all day, we did one with 7 w/r and 1 n/mo. it was like farming fame, we owned every map until courtyard, where we got royally served. and its more farming than anything else beacuse you win fast or you lose fast, and you win against most teams that are caught totally off guard.

*but* i think i came up with a counter to it (other than just trying to block all the attacks and hoping you survive - something you cant do when one of the warriors takes charge)

heres how it goes: someone take predatory season, and someone else take scourge healing and spitefull spirit. this way, whenever a warrior attacks, he takes 30 damage from spitefull spirit, and gets healed for 4, and then scourge healing does even more aoe damage. add well of suffering to effectivly remove their 'i will avenge you' and make dam sure you brought guardian. (aegis is good but unless you plan on keeping it up all the time with 3 people using it - something i am not a fan of - you will need guardian.)

then you just *run*. if you see someone headed your way dont even wait for him to come just run. you can even add muddy terrain to make it totally annoying for them.

so just to be more specific, heres the specific build ideas i had:

1 ranger, using barrage, predatory season, traps, and muddy terrain (traps are horribley annoying in pvp, and you can sub mesmer for that mantra so you wont be doing situps when trapping) you may even want to use spike trap instead of barrage, suit yourself

1-2 necros using spitefull spirit, you can even have a mesmer use empathy, but then you have to really spam it.

some smiter adding scourge healing and putting it on everyone in sight.

this can effectively crush any build like this, but it does require that you add at least 1 ranger and 1 mesmer or necro. (i dont think this is unreasonable - rangers arent totally useless and most teams already have a necro)

if you dont like well of suffering you can use tainted, it will do the same thing (stop i will avenge you's regen) but its less effective and eats an elite.

hope it helps ^^

I'm waiting for someone to combine this build with the sacrifice!necros.

And I'm still working on my all Me/x / x/Me "headache" build for countering this + smiters. Warrior hate mesmers are your friends, as are Necromancers.

Scourge healing only triggers on actual healing spells. It won't, unless it's been changed, trigger on seed, aura of restoration, predatory season, etc.

I beat one of these in Halls tonight. We had our mesmer keep their necro down and, as you suggest, hexed the snot out of them. Faintheartedness on warriors and pets, Malaise on necros, etc.
