With my guild we do it this way: we don't take w/mo's. Period. It helps a lot, despite that it's not fair. And when we scan for healers, we ask if they have mending with them, and anyone who says yes is dumped right there. It's very discriminatory and we might seem like jerks sometimes, but in the end it pays off. Warriors with FEIRY DAGRON SORDS get dumped as well.

I have to be honest though, doing fissure and underworld runs, or sorrows, or any high level area, it's usually inexperienced monks who are used to getting picked in a group, that play badly. They don't have to play very well to get a team or to stay in one, so a lot of them think they're the geniune article, when very often they're just mediocre at best.

W/Mo's can be quite powerful, provided they aren't taking any healing aside from maybe a condition/hex remover. Also, some people run around with 15>50 FDS's, nothing wrong with that. (Crystallines are by far uglier.) Mending I'd rather explain to the Monk why s/he shouldn't bring it.

The point is that you're being far too elitist and generalizing the majority of players out there. Simply kicking them does not help them one bit, leaving them to team with other players who don't know what they're doing, and the cycle continues. I'd rather a sincere player who will change his build then a "leet" player who's an ass.

Also, a side note: I cringe at the unclosed tags in this thread. It's been a while since I've done coding, and it still hurts.

Yes we're generalising. That's the whole point. On the long run it works, and we don't get that many n00bs in PUG's.

What makes a good group? Basically anything will work. Tankless, Monkless ..etc. It is not the what but who you bring with you that determines the outcome. I 've spent the last two days at Hell's Percipise trying to get a group, let alone completeing the mission.

What a nightmare, let me tell you. I was playing my level 20 Mesmer/Ranger, aye one of the unpopular professions (Mesmers, Necros and Rangers). So I would call out for a group ... Me/R-20 (Shutdown+Hex removal+Res) --> Lfg Mission to little avail. This is my sixth charater to have completed the game, this I did not advertise because I did not want people to think I was bragging. Oh I did manage to get into a few groups after long waits, only to be plagued with totaly clueless players or booted for another player class (Warrior, Elementist or Monk)

Once in group I try to open discussions about the mission. Who is the assigned target caller? Which order the mobs should be attack. What skills are most effective for this mission. Everyone has Res? Who has Winter? What a joke most times no one responds. I have been through this mission as a Warrior, a Monk, an Ele, a Necro and a Ranger so I know what I'm doing. I have come to the conclusion that alot for folks are audio & visually impaired they dont listen ... I guess their ears are just wax collectors!! (Rofl)

On my second day frustrated beyond belief, I decided that I'll go skill capping in Hell's Percipise with my W/Mo (yes, a wamo ). After 20 minutes of trying to find a group and only two joiners we decide to take the henchies because the group that we merged with bailed. So our group is comprised of two Warrios, one Ranger and 5 henchies. We cleared the entire map, capped our skills and then just for the heck of it completed the mission which none of us needed. After which we proceeded to Mineral Springs again just the three of us with henchies completed Defend Draknor and cleared the zone for capping. Props to "Dart of the Wood" and "Dumbass Queen" you guys rock! Very nice, considerate and patient folks. Both of whom are now on my friends list.

Later on that day I am back at Hell's Percipise with my Mesmer .. same bullcrap. Ok, I say to myself "henchies it is". First attempt fails, hmm I died to the Sparks ah forgot Winter so off to Ember Light I go to buy Winter. Second attempt I cap "Pain" and complete the mission.

So group dynamics are about people behind the pixels not what toon they are. Patience and communication are the keys to success. When you find a good group add them to your friends list they are a rare commodity.
