Don't think you can strafe away from shots under RTW - they are way too fast to miss.

out of curiosity...
how bad would Holy Wrath hurt ranger spikes being cast on 4 monks and one neco (and being recast and covered by enchantments).

how much % of the ranger spike is attack damage (how much is not ignite arrows, order of the vampire, life stealing or conditions)?
how bad is it to have 66% of it (up to 16 per hit) thrown back?
Do all rangers do fire damage and wear fire armor?
Do ranger spikes remove one enchantment every 12 seconds, every 5 or every 20, profane wells or sunny spirits?

hey at least its better thant protective bond.

ollj is my hero.

anyway, zeru, from my experience in playing that 5th mesmer, yes everyone repeatedly crawled up my ass. the good thing about ranger spiking tho is that you can spike whoever you want. for example, if they had a mesmer using junk like migraine on me (making my rend take the whole night to cast), you could just... spike the mesmer.

however im not minimizing your point zeru, in fact that very weakness is why ive kind of stayed away from ranger spikes. its a serious weakness in most spike ranger spike builds

I don't know. Every time I see lara he has different people, but I always recognize the name. I've played with several of them myself, and they are all quite good players.

lara uses ignite and a simple warder rips his spikes and they can't kill jack

For ignite you dont even need a E/W warder, just seeding random people and balling up works really well.

I fail to see the big deal over ranger spike, it can be stopped by having a warder like 90% of all other spikes out there.

Can anyone say me what have they changed?

i still run a ranger spiker more or less to "farm faction" in the Random Arena (3000 in 1/2-1h depends on the team) when i need an elite or a rune.

so i was suprised when i saw that people still use that build in the tombs, it has disapered for 1 month or less after the "nerf"

i use:
-Poison Elite (well punisning and savage was to much delay bethwen the shots and poison somehow does the same dmg over time)
-kindle
-duble
-savege
-lighthing reflexes
-troll
-FW
-rez

are they changes in the "lara's" build or ist it basicly the same?

dual -> quick -> savage
or dual -> punishing
are the only viable ranger spike combos IMO.

Lara is a good caller as stated
and lara doesnt always run with 9+.. she sometimes runs with others
pRp spike is well
it works good cause of the people who play it
ie hate to say but terror is one of the best corpse controllers

they all have mics
they really communicate in vent

I wouldn't say the build is "nothing without a perfect leader/caller." My guild has run this build, won & held some with me calling & I am far from perfect (I believe it was our 2nd night running it). Granted we are not anywhere as dominate as lara, but the build can still win & hold halls without running it as smoothly as valor or power of my rangers.

thank you ishamael, thats what ive been trying to say. its really just the build. anyone can just practice it and become good with it, but in essence, the build is the only great thing there.

I've beaten lara many times. I've lost with ranger spike many times.

If you want to stop the spike, run cry of frustration and other interupts to stop the duals from coming off, and keep the Me/N down. That's about it.

and no, water does nothing against them. All the spikers are running hex breaker, so your blurred vision isn't going to stay on.

the difference ive noticed between running in lara's team and running in other dedicated ranger spike teams, is the 'inaction' time inbetween targets.

in most teams, there is up to 5-10 seconds between target calls, this kind of timing is ok for a lightning spike or some other energy intensive spike.

but ranger energy management is brilliant with good expertise and doesnt need this hand holding approach.

and lara simply calls new targets much faster (2-5 secs).

i think the technique isnt so much timing the calls, because i was always using a skill or moving towards a target in lara's team. and the natural flow of using skills concurrently auto-timed the spike despite the time difference over vent (im in australia).

but yeah, the team seems a good bunch of players who have been playing their roles for a while.

but as with all ranger spikes its fairly easy to counter if you use preventative counters like ward v harm, as opposed to 'after the fact' counters like uber healing skills.

has good team that's works well with eachother and has played with eachother so they're more trustworthy with eachother
