this has happened to us. someone cast rend like a second before we all died and our ranger wasnt protted, so we all died. BUT there were like 30 pets and our ghost died and they capped. it was totally retarded lol.

im not even gonna comment on our loss to you with a non edge build. gg...

Another trick you can use to survive EoE without using up your elite slot on MoP is to just parasitic bond the other team.

i see this working in a 1-1 but not in a 3 way, where it actually matters

I'd still like to do the whole suicide necros/UA thing. I'll bet that will be hilarious.

oh actually oddsock we tried that death nova/eoe/minion thing. it didnt work, we couldnt nova enough of them in < 30 second AND get the eoe off before then. we never got past the unworthy lol.

we did make a pile of fiends and just steamrolled the unworthy with winnowing, then did regular bomb for a real team. definetly a good change of pace ^^

Hehe, yes I love to run the 8 monkeys - it has quite some flaws, but we can get to the hall and win it sometimes. I would really like to know how it works against edge bombs, I think when already seeded, it would steamroll, otherwise it would fall like everything.

it all depends. if you balled up, we woould rush in with nova, and then GG. i dont think theres much that can stop 700 damage from nova with about 7*50 from eoe. what loses the match is when the team splits up and our novas hit sporadicaly. then it starts to suck.

heal balls are basically destroyed by anything with maelstrom/putird/profane you name it. imo its not the best build to play but w/e.

we actually sent like 5 real crappy iway teams to the halls with our eoe build. we canNOT win seriously any relic run. just cant. so as a result we lost to this group that spent about 4 minutes dropping the orb near their hero instead of giving it to him. yea its that sad. we usually were ok as long as we skipped the first one, then we had a shitload of fun at the courtyard and got royally owned in the next relic run by some skipping noobs with some of the crappiest teams you will ever see.

what really pisses me off about it is that as soon as people in the 11pm+ time see me or mara theyre like OMG EDGE and start doing all kinds of crap to counter it. seriously i need to get a new name and we should be able to hide our secondaries.

oh well i hope we actually skip tonight...

Oh, I'm not saying 8-monks is the best build in the game or anything. I said it's fun! Even if you lose it's still hilarious. We once had two teams wailing on us for about 15-minutes while we just healed and seeded. At that point, we had gotten tired of counting our smite spikes so we were just healing to see how long we'd last. We lost, invariably, due to lack of energy. If we'd been a tiny bit more coordinated on the healing, we'd all probably still be there!

lol different tastes i guess

i prefer it when things blow up and then it says 'victory' across your screen before the ghost even says "welcom to the underworld"

or, in about 10 seconds you hear somoene go "RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO" and it goes 'defeat' and were all just laughing while the other team is like.. huh?

i have this love/hate relationship with the courtyard map. on one hand, its awesome when you kill all three teams. otoh, it sucks because you have to wait about 10 mins when you usually spend like 20 seconds per map.

my best one was in scarred earth. 4 teams, so we run in and blow our first team to hell in like 10 seconds. so we run over to the wall, and lo and behold they just started fighting near the wall. BOOM. 10 seconds later, victory. those two teams didnt even start fighting

too bad you cant get a flawless with this

the unworth would remove death nova off the minions automatically... so you cant use that build as easily against unworthy.

lol yeah its bison but that one when they other 2 teams were fighting by the wall was the funniest thing we've done with this build just dont give away teh secrets, btw the best part is when people are talking trash at begining of match then we blow them up all of a sudden it becomes quiet on there side..

this build is awesome. remmeber to start the trash talk in the beginning or you run the risk of them not starting it (!), thus denying you all the fun at the end

2 guys seeded would basically ignore any damage from eoe, so you've got to survive the nova which would be close but can be done (100 damage per use, 2 seeds triggered = 50 damage = 7*50 = 350)

Sometimes that happens, that's the risk of it But quite often you can move out of maelstrom or meteor shower, profane will never get down due to our necro denying corpses and putrid, well it's a one shot that is easily healed with 1 heal area. It requires an immense amount of control though, so I would never play it with strangers, but in the guild it's fun and quite successful.

You could, seriously. At least 3 or 4 of you guys. Put in every superior rune and your hp are down to 105. 3 eoe's and you're dead. Death Nova can be cast by the necros on you, so you charge in like always and when the necros bip themselves to death, you'll follow immediately, setting off everything as always.

the funniest thing I ever saw with eoe was when we were teaching our ranger how to use it. At this point he hadnt got the hang of when to drop it at all, and had dropped it right at the start.

Anyway, after berating him for it, we advanced, and were met with a necro suicide squad, seven of them that charged into our midst and self destructed with death nova on. I think their eigth member was a mesmer/mo, dont know, never saw him.

What made it funny was that they also had eoe up, so the effect was doubled. becasue it was doubled, every single person on the map died instantly, except for one of our monks who had been seeded by the other, and he was very, very nearly dead.

nice win that one :-)

Well, I dont know for sure, it would need to be tested and the numbers watched I guess but it was a hell of a big bang, i know that , and I know there were two eoes because I saw their spirit as I fell to the ground dead.....

Everyone just fell down dead except for the one monk with seed on who was pretty shocked...

We tried to work out the numbers afterwards. I dont know the strength of their eoe, but I think ours was 38 hit points per death, so the original seven suiciders would have done 266 on our eoe, not enough to kill everyone. Add the death novas on thats another 182 plus poison, 448 plus poison, which wouldnt have created the insta death i dont think, and sure as heck wouldnt have killed their mesmer who was out of range of the novas and wouldnt have been hurt by them anyway, so he died purely on the eoe effect of 14 people dieing simultaneously. Beats me how the seed kept the monk alive really, but there you go.

I dont know for sure, but it was very funny
