Ok well this has been brought up in my guild, mainly by me and our clan leader, about 3+ man trips into the UW. What is your feeling about splitting up ectos between guildmembers, or anyone that you may take into a trip into the uw?

I ask because i notice that most of the time we have 1 or 2 guild members that always get the dam ectos and sometimes 3, 4 or 5 in a row, yeah iv'e seen 5 drop for one person in the group before, it's very fustrating.

Now several members in the group tell me im being a baby, or i'm whining, because i never get any ecto drops or very, very, rarely, but then i say then wtf am i down here for? It's not like i have 3/4 mill gp and sitting on 60 ectos waiting for fissure armor, of which 1 or 2 other characters HAVE A FULL SET of fissure armor.

I mean it is a "TEAM EFFORT", so the "TEAM" should reap the spoils rather than 1 person.

I mean what does it hurt to split ectos? Especially that it's a very rare drop, and the most expensive, and all i want is the wars helmut from fissure, i have 15 shards and 1 ecto....1!!! that i bought for much more than i wanted but makes me feel better to have 1 to start the collection.

I myself have no problems that if i get 3 ectos in a run, giving one to each other member in the group, at the end of the run, so that all feel it was worth the trip and noone feels bad about crap drops.

Either way it's a grind for ectos, weather you farm them or pay for them.

What say you men?..err and women.

Well, Glob of Ectoplasm is a rare drop, like you said. I don't think you should share the globs when you get 1-2 globs, but if you get 5 globs, then you really should share. The best advice is to go to UW with a team as small as possible.

Yeah, I like this idea. In Lineage II, we split the price a person bid on the drop among the whole party. Ex: Ecto, someone bids 15,000 gold. No one else wants to bid higher? 15,000 gold/ number of party members = Each person gets 1875 for their work. And the drop is given to highest bidder.

But in Lineage II you could pk anywhere you wanted, like if someone just took the drop and ran they'd be down in exp pts. I guess not good to try with pug.

nah I do not think it will work. I've never seen one that gives away their ecto.
Maybe shards but not ecto.
If you get 5 a run like others would you be willing to share with others?
Ask yourself that question.
Deep down inside you won't give away.

I'm like you, I never get ectos when I go in groups. Thats Why I do not bother with the UW that much.

But for FoW I usually get shards

splitting ecto doesnt really do much IMO. after the new update I have been getting 5+ ecto per trip solo, mind you I do run a few 2 man trips with a good friend, and I am far luckier than him in the drops department, so yea I split all the ecto I get with him to even it out. Like if he gets 1 or 2 and i get 5 or 6, i will even it out with him. If you are really wanting ecto bad, just solo UW, in about 2 hours yesterday I got 21 ecto solo. Just a suggestion

ok first off. i am not talking about a solo trip were talking a 2-5 man run, and as i stated before i have no problems splitting my ectos with another guild member, and it's not for the purpose of selling the ectos, it's specifically for saving to get fissure armor, were also talking about guild members who i have been playing with for over 5 years in many different games, who are already sitting on a crap load of ectos, and already have a set or two of full armor.

Were also talking about members who have the solo build, which i used to have, but because of the ratio of drops per run with other members seeing i never get any and they "always" and i mean "ALWAYS" get the ecto, i took everything off the old monk and started a new one hoping the drops would be better, tho now at this time i cannot afford the 5 super runes for a monk solo build, unfortunatly the last ones i had didn't salvo off the other monks armor so i have to save for the runes once again, and at 20k a pop, and trying to save for 1 single peice of fissure armor, 1 just one dammit.

Being in the same guild and playing with the same guys for years i think it only fair to split them esp being as i said a team effort, you want to keep you ectos then do the solo runs, but if theirs more why not split?

Greed, that's why, and like i said i'd have np sharing even 2 ectos, 3 or however many people are in the group for the run.

In FoW I gave away shards to someone who got none when I got 4 or 5.
Of course, if you make a deal to split the drops, sure, why not?

I got 2 ecto's after a (cumulative across all my chars) 4 million xp.

Then again, I hate UW for its lack of drops, so I haven't been there more often than 30 times.

I disagree with splitting, it's merely luck of the drops.

Maybe you overfarmed UW and he's on his first run though. What happens if a req 8 Crystalline drops for him? Are you guys going to share that too?

Why not suggest that anytime a Ecto drops, all of the party members get one. This would almost completely remove the solo farmers.

P.S. you could lower the ecto drop rate and since I would be assured an ecto evertime one drops I might just go back to the UW.

in fow i got 4 shard drops in a row, and i felt bad after getting my 4th during the tower quest, so i put a shard at the top of the tower and made them race from the bottom of the tower to get it :P

also just gave one away to this dude who didnt get a shard and didnt bring a key.

but then again, ectos are worth 5x as much as shards so it might be a different story.

it's not like that dude, this is the first game like this we have played together, other than neverwinternights, and that wasn't even too long, so it's never been an issue, we've played mainly first person shooters, and it's not like it's all of them either, and their guys i have grown up with so, one of'em is my tattoo artist lol, but he doesn't have an issue sharing, just a few others.

Now thoses that don't mind sharing can just group together and go into uw, just wanted to see how others felt about it.
