Default Balanced Smite?

I've seen a fast growing trend of high calibur groups running a very strange balanced build with a combination of smiting. The times that I saw it played well, the battle was relatively short and devestating. The only real profession I was able to confirm was a Ranger/Warrior weilding a hammer and laying about him with adrenal skills while being smite off of. The only groups I've seen run this with any success were the r9 player groups. Now,did I perhaps miss something? What does this build entail? And most curiously, what is so special about a Ranger Warrior?

Ranger Warrior:
Expertise lowers the cost of most warrior skills as well, making energy-based attacks almost endlessly spammable and they can still use the adrenal attacks. Tigers Fury instead of Frenzy to eliminate the double damage. Ranger stances + warrior stances.

Ive been using strength of honor on my ranger/mo beastmaster. the extra 8 damage with fav winds and ferocious strike ( yes I put it on my pet as well)
seem to increase my base damage and allow me to focus on keeping Increased att speed skills up. since ferocius strike is giving me 10 ene with every hit and costing 5 im finding I have more energy than I need.

currently im debating on trying to incorperate ferocius strike /charm animal with ranger as a subclass. Im leaning to a mez ranger with pet build and some spammable spells. the only problem is no ranger beast mastery rune. but im thinking if I can kick beastmastery up enough to get say 7 ene return our of five spent it could be a usefull tool to spam, doing damage while giving energy back.
the only drawback ive found so far with using ferocius strike, charm animal and pred pounce is I use up my elite slot and loose 3 total for pet. but I think the pet actually does enough damage to offset the loss..

Thanks Famous Big Stick, that was the real answer I was looking for. Erm, would it be really presumptuous of me to ask for slight details of that build? Are the two monks and r/w the only damage output? Do you use the standard 2 heals 1 prot monk combo? If so, what are the other 2 characters in the team? It seems like a fun build if nothing else. So what happened to Only The Validus? Why YAY now?

only the validus disbanded, like 15 ppl from only the validus(Man) re-formed yin and yang(YAY) same leader as the old YAY....

I guess the "top secret" smiting build uses some of these skills :

Glyph of renewal {E}
Divine spirit

Reversal of fortune
Draw conditions
Zealot fire
Judge's insight
Strength of honnor
Blessed aura
Balthazar's aura
Glyph of lesser energy

Btw, I highly doubt the ranger is running 16 Expertise. It must be something like 9 Beast mastery / 12 Hammer mastery / 14 Expertise, or 12 Beast mastary / 12 Hammer mastery / 11 Expertise.

Ive ran a few groups with a smiter inside, they do some nice dmg, not Zealots fire tho, thats just a waste of time!

Glyph Lesser Energy
Bals Aura
Judges Insight
Windbourne
Smite Hex
Symbol of Wrath
Glyph Renewal (E)
Res

You can double smite or double smite hex etc, you wont run out of energy either aslong u got a +15 wand rdy.

Actually, I vaugely remember someone using glyph of renewal on divine spirit. I don't know, it just seems like a fun thing to goof with. I'm not trying to crack some great code here, just trying to have a lil more fun.

I play a w/mo pure warrior skills--knocklocker--I love knockdown skills, and the spike damage that can be realized. Can the r/w build put out nearly the same amount of damage? Without strength, I would think no, but as my wife likes to remind me, I am often wrong.

Thats far from ballanced.

Might only work because all the players that targets monks only do not know where to start.

im guessing the R/W use Escape, any of the tactic or hammer elites or Skull Crack as elite.

Come on, someone out there has had to run this at one time or another. Is it really supposed to be that secret? Eh, no matter. Just wanted to get to use my hammer ranger in a team setting.

This isn't a guessing game. Either discuss the build or don't. Enough with the one-liners.
