(The reason 2 people would use it is because it is faster this way: if one person used Unyielding Aura on 6 people, and the last person used it on him, then the last person only has to cancel one enchantment for everyone to die.

The way to do it just as fast with one person would be to have that one person ressurect everyone with Unyielding Aura, and to create the same instant death have that person kill himself by some standard method such as Illusion of Weakness, breaking all his enchantments and killing everyone)
I'm sorry for telling you off, but I am sure you never really tryed that. I was working to get it with Unyielding Aura, and I used the best possible combo, it is doable, but it is a pain in the ass. There is a much easier way. Let's call it
"Self-Kill Spike" or "Death Spike". I hope you know what I mean, if not, tell me and I'll explain it to you

Of course, as soon as this gets out of control, Arena net will simply release chapter two. More than one race FTL :P

Wrong. Don't post a statement like that without testing it. Stop contributing to the mass of bad information in these forums.

Elena is correct. Edge of Extinction is applied through "species," so pets dying won't kill players, but a Wolf pet dying will damage a Moa Bird pet (all pets are the same "species" to EOE). Therefore, pets are useless in terms of EOE Bombs.

You need the following:
Edge of Extinction on a 16 BM Ranger Primary
Mark of Protection [E]
Light of Dwayna
Some way for the non Mark of Prot'd characters to sacrifice down and/or kill themselves quickly.

That's the basic structure of the build. Mark of Prot only has to be good enough to at least negate the EOE damage so you don't need a huge Protection investment. How you sacrifice life is your affair. There's a few ways to do it.

Actually, doesnt mark of protection state that whenever the target would take damage, they are healed for some amount instead? Wouldn't that mean that they could use MoP without any prot points at all?

Who wants to get together and try this build? I can't find an eoe pug.

Yeah, it does behave like that, but at a zero attribute, it only heals for a maximum of 6, so it negates 12 damage. Any damage over that 12 would still be taken. The prevention isn't enough to negate EOE at a zero attribute.

Something like this (using simple numbers):

You get hit by a 50 damage Final Thrust from a Paladin. Mark of Prot says it heals for 20.
20 damage is negated. 30 remains.
You are healed for 20. 10 remains.
You take 10 damage. The Mark of Prot negated 40 damage (double what it heals for)

It works exactly like Reversal of Fortune but for a duration instead of just the next hit.

Problem was, it was a priest map, so we had to sit there for a minute thirty laughing ourselves silly. Yeah, that is what happened in my first encounter with EoE. Cept instead of staying back, the 3 warriors weren't in the middle of it, so we survived, then killed off their priest and won.

yey actually it does, I tryed so many ways to do it, but with the time needed its just not makeable, I still try to find a way, as it would really fit in for a variation of an EoE bomb. Anyways I'm about to make up a really good version of the EoE bomb, I'll perhaps post it here later on when it is tested and proved that it works. The best on it is, that it is playable like a normal template. Lets say you got a healing ball, from one second to the other an EoE drops, 5players of the EoE-team are dead and the rest of the other team. Wouldn't that be funny? See a normal build turn into a huge EoE bomb, and you are like "WTF!"

ohh and bast, If you would have read two posts further down, I forgot to mention something, I know myself that it only acts on the same species, but the death nova does the trick. Try not to be harsh please, it should be a nice community here, not a one where one poster flames the other.

in the few times ive ran eoe we did it with 135hp illusion of weakness bomb, preffered this to necros running bip bcz we could take 3 mo/me's with 12 illusion to disguise the bomb , of which 1 of the mo/me's carries spellbreaker so the guy whos putting down eoe cant be galed etc. and just before the bomb the 4 me/mo's arcane echo energy surge to spread a nice bit of dmg so u dont even need to use light of dwayna for a second bomb

Unyielding Aura is wierd in that if the person that is mantaining it dies, it doesn't start a chain reaction. The person who had it on them continues to live, despite the mantainers death.
