I'd put Lingering Curse on the necro instead of Rend enchantments.

Me and a friend have been working on one for awhile. We love it very much so. And I am willing to help you test it out and give suggestions along the way.

Did anyone ever notice that people rarely target pets? Well, thank you IWAY. You don't HAVE to have your skill bar maxed out with beast mastery skills. Let your pet do the damage, and have yourself stay alive. You can have your pets do all the fighting while running around. You can set traps. You can put conditions, hexes, and what not. Hell, ideas range from a trap/beast mastery group. It's like having 8 trappers, and 8 furry warriors that... listen! Unless their hungry or you've been neglecting your pet.

Also can have 3-4 people devoted to doing pure damage with their bow, while just having Charm Animal. Or just have everyone be an annoyance with pin shot, apply poison, poison arrow, or barrage, and what not, while having other skills be in beast mastery and having a Resurrection Signet on the side.

Just a point that pets are basically worthless unless you invest in high beatsmastery and some pet attacks.

2 things,

take the pet off the necro. as things stand now, you have to attack for the pet to attack, and if the pet dies, all your skills are shut down. Its not going to be worthwile on the nec

second, u dont need every ranger to have comfort. Just have 1 person bring revive

Pets are just like warriors. They suffer from wards, protection, condition and everything warrior suffers.

Beast Masters lack skill slots to cure the pets so technically we need at least one monk to get rid of the condition/hex.

Last night I changed my usual pet build a bit and add Debilitating shot. Man, this skill really helps the team kill monks. -10Energy is a huge thing for Monk. All those protection/healing monk would run and heal, run and heal. They won't die 'cause they are waiting for that 5 energy to re-cast Healing Touch or Word of Healing to get back in action. One Debilitating shot can avoid the monk from healing TWICE which gives the team a lot of chances to kill the monk.

I'm up for it. Got a spider and I mainly farm SF with a full BM setup.

<--- IGN

And you only need 9 in Expertise if you only have 5 and 10 energy skills. The next breakpoint is at 13 Expertise.

The main reason is that it feels pretty useless running the /dance emote while your pet does all the work. Alternatively it's because sometimes you need to switch targets, and there is so far no good way to tell your pet to do that. Tertiarily, I would say it's because your pet dies occasionally. Some builds don't have room for Comfort Animal, such as the necro or warrior build above. Once the pet dies, you can be fairly useless.

Revive Animal is cool because you can res teammates animals, so they don't need comfort, but in my experience, the word "nearby" means "directly under your avatar". My own pet has failed to res from an arms length away. Better than nothing, I guess.

To Linkusmax: I run an Orders Necro (occasionally*) Beastmaster, and if the group is very physical damage intensive, this adds greatly to the dps. It goes:

Barbs
Order of Pain
Mark of Pain/Desecrate Enchantments
Order of the Vampire
Brutal Strike
Call of Haste
Call of Protection
Charm Animal

I call CoH and CoP "Set and Forget Skills(tm)" because you hit them just before the match starts, and >50% of the time you never use them again. Brutal Strike and the Orders are enough to seriously hurt anyone. Someone else is interupting the self heals, and of course your team is focus firing right? Barbs on that guy. +22 damage per attack for Barbs and (OoP/OotV), +34 for BS. On an average attack thats ~36-48, and every 5 seconds you BS for an extra 56 (92-104!). With a regular attack ~1/second with CoH that is 236 - 296 every 5 seconds. I'll let you guys multiply that by the amount of pets on your team and add in the damage from the Rangers themselves (oh yeah, them).

Mark of Pain is iffy. You just don't get people balling up on a good team, unless someone pulls out the healing ball, or we are talking HoH. So I go Desecrate normally, but substitute MoP for HoH. By the way, PvE monsters have gotten smarter about MoP, and start to run away when they are dying due to someone elses hex. And I like Desecrate better than Rend because I figure doing the damage to the enemy instead of yourself is always a good thing. (At 12 curses that's up to 185 damage to each enemy in the ball every 15 seconds instead of the 248 damage that Rend does to you every 30.)

The downside to this build is that you need a fair deal of healer attention with the 2 sacrifice skills. I'd be happy to help out in strategizing, or in practicing. (In game name: Gore Trader (dune lizard: Fianna))

(*Occasionally meaning that I often get sick of my Pet doing the work, and I swap out these four skills for 3 Marksmanship skills -- RtW/PowShot/PenAttack plus Weaken Armor.)

If you are going to run a protection Mo/R with condition removal, you should try:

Draw Conditions
Melandru's Resilience {E}

Put wilderness at about 8-9 and it lasts a decent amount of the time, so you can spam draw, and maintain a decent high health and energy regen agaisnt condition heavy teams (plus hexes on you).

Another build I've wanted to try is to have smiting beastmasters and smiting monks, rotating balthazar's aura on the pets.

Perhaps mixing the main damage source as bow rangers w/beast support. I tried a basic quick shot build in a while back but just added a pet and distracting lunge. The result was mixed, but if i say had three of said distract/qs builds, you could be massing interrupt actions on the target while dealing big dps. Add duel shot and savage shot then you can spike on top of that. As for the rest of the team, i think trappers/beastmasters works well. Either go 2qs/3trap or 3qs/2trap... and then perhaps two monks and a necro with blood ritual...otherwise your monks arent going to last long with no energy management. Or, give them meladrus like ^^. On top of blood ritual you should be pumping out heals. Make the necro a /monk and give some basic prot skills as well..... as ^^ pets on casters =

May I offer a suggestion? Don't take more than 3 pet 'skills' outside of comfort and charm animal. They recharge fast enough so that even with only 2 pet attacks, you'll be spamming them constantly anyway. This leaves you room for a tigers fury and/or distracting shot. Generally, you should have at least 2 skills for your ranger, plus the res sig, then the 5 pet skills (comfort, charm, other 3 skills).
