thats how I ment it.
I'm sorry, that's bullsh*t. Shooting twice as fast doesn't have anything to do with traveling twice as fast.

it's called ranger spike, if you're just running the numbers then I guess you haven't been playing it for the last two months.

by the way, thanks for taking the troll bait ^_^.

Oh christ... as much as i dislike R-spike (people think they are so skilled by using it)

READ THE WIND- check that skill. Combine using that with a different elite apart from qs, speed isnt always neccessary.

I have noticed that after update when you use Quick Shot and it's recharging you CAN'T use any other skill nor attack normaly. It's like distracting or savage shot now
Is that supposed to be or is that mistake by arena-net ?

I actually never understand how Quickshot works. It does add any damage. I know you can shoot very fast but there is a delay now and QZ doesn't improve the shooting.

You can still shoot faster than before but in random/team arena, I don't think Quickshot is that good. In 8v8 situation where there are lots of spirits may be more useful.

Oh my, Escape is actually very good now!! It used to be one of the most useless skills in the game. lol

Try this, hit dualshot, quickshot, savage shot. Make a note of how long it takes for the 3.

Now try dualshot, normal shot, savage shot and make a note of how long it takes.

I assure you the the first one takes less time.

quick shot is just about the only skill, even an elite, that lets you double your dps. This skill is so incredibly powerful, it not only deserves to an elite, it deserves to havea thread praising its glory. rangers have some of the best eltes in the game, and qs is definately among the top 3 elites (others being punish and crip shot) therefore, qs is among the top elites inthe game, stop crying and learn how to use it correctly.

The correct method is to activate it after every normal attack, therefore netting you an extra arrow after every shot, without hardly any delay in the firing stream. Fring pricedure is normal/qs/normal/qs, with power attacks like dual shot subbed in for normals whenever you can. All of the qs/qs/qs/qs/qs/qs nonsense was nerfed, and sucked anyways.

which elites? how are they better? The good ranger elites, as far as i am concerned, are:

Melandrus Arrows - Elite Prep that pwns they hell out of any enchanted target. Only issues are that it is wilderness (requiring you to spec it to 10+, taking away from marks), it is conditional (enchanted targets only, kinda limits your ability to focus fire with your teammates) and it only lasts 18s.

Oath Shot - Very useful for trapper and spirit rangers, but also very useful for certain shotdown rangers

Quick Shot - Already discussed, it nearly doubles your dps.

Crippling Shot - Cripple is an awesome skill for immobilzing a target or pinning a warrior so he is really easy to kite. This skill puts a cripple where you need one, every time, any time, no matter what

Punishing Shot - Basically a savage shot with power shot's damage buff. Absolutely nothing really wrong with this skill except that it is only usable every 10s where the other really good ones are usable every 1s. That and it really doesnt increase your dps that much since it has that nasty aftercast time.

maybe there are more but im getting a little bored, and these are the core anyways. From all the effects listed, Id say the 2x dps offered by qs far outstrips just about everything else. The others are only useful for specialty builds.

Incendiary Arrows, Fragility, 12 Illusion, 0 wilderness Survival

Outside hex removal, you have yourself, a baked target...

Why nobody likes Incendiary? Interrupting a spell with every arrow not good enough? Choking Gas? Yeah I guess, but you need something to use during down time right? ^_^

Incendiary take 2 seconds to prep and lasts for 8 seconds and recharge is 24 Seconds...

Do I really need to explain why its not good?

Have you actually tried this ? Its horrible. Incendiary takes up your Elite slot, doesnt let you use other preperations and has an 8 second duration with a 24 second recharge. Seriously this skill has nothing going for it.

Its going to be very, very difficult to get illusion to 12, have decent Expertise and still retain enough points for Marksmanship. Fragility just doesnt add enough damage for this to be viable.

emms incedimentary got changed to 10 secs and if u using serpents quickness it will be 10 secs duration 16 recharge :P think first. so if u stay on a monk he will be burning for 10 secs = 70 dmg over time and be interupt for 10 secs (where u will kill him through dmg) and if u cary distracting shot and savage then u've got a monk shutdown :P 3 of these in hoh could be tasty. u could attack the other casters and the 3 rangers will take out the monks.

Its still 8 seconds. The damage will be 140 over 10 seconds. It still sucks. Go try it out in CA if you disagree.

Agreed, incindiary arrows suck and meleandrus and crippling shot are not that great either.

The 70 damage over 10 seconds is not that impressive. My punishing shot deals up to 100 damage in a split second if used at the right time.

Crippling Shot is one of the best elites in the game. It is an easily spamable snare that can never miss. Crippling shot flaggers are still prevalent in GvG (though air ele flaggers are becoming more and more popular), and it is also a great utility skill for most builds (besides spike builds). In tombs, try running a crippling shot/apply poison ranger with blackout, some interrupts, and maybe a trap or two. You'll be suprised at how effective it is at shutting down enemy monks, and it can cause warriors some major grief as well. If you can spare the attributes, include signet of humily for bonus awesome points.
