Default monk/ele using ele skills???

i've been on a few CA teams today, and out of 10 teams, i've had two mo/e.
note, these arent divine spirit monks!!!

no...

the first monk used fire storm, flare and fireball, and had no divine favour.

the second monk used 4 fire skills and 4 water skills!!!

i have seen monks like this too much lately... is there a reason why they are so common?

I know one of the top guilds (EvIL I think, maybe Girls on Top) uses a M/Ele, but all the monk uses ele for is glyph of lesser energy, usually followed by aegis.

An offensive monk in CA is just goofing off - harmless really.

yeah glyph monks were used to be common...glyph of energy

now glyph of renewal + divine spirit is more common, but mo/me and mo/n still owns energy management - wise

I tried a weird monk ele build in CA, just to see whether it would work on not on the premise that warriors will attack me whatever i do.

I took Shield of Judgement, Kinetic Armor, Stone Daggers, Obsidian Flame, and a few others and pretty much tried to lure the warrior away from the rest of his group. It worked ok, but eventually you come up against a warrior with a brain who realises you arent actually doing any healing.

It wasn't very satisfying to play, so i think i'll forget about that idea for now...
