Indeed. In a warrior heavy build like IWAY, Charge would be godly. The absolutely best thing about sword warriors is you do not need an attack elite to make them decent. Asuming you have an axe warrior or three deep wounding people, Final Thrust is huge spike damage.

Evis/Rake/Executioners
Pure/Galrath/Final

Also: Hammer works arguably the best with IWAY. To compensate for its higher damage than sword or axe, it's attack rate is at a base of 66%. Using IWAY AND Tigers Fury at the same time means you can boost the speed of your hammer to 133%. The same speed as an axe or sword with IWAY or Tigers Fury up. The original IWAY was 8 hammer W/R.

2 sword wars with charge will push iway over the edge. Alternate the charges and you will have a 2 second down time over 20 seconds. Using 2 elite spots just opened up 1 slot on every other war on your team.

Everyone says axes do the most spike dmg well you are completely wrong. Try a hammer with warrior's endurance with 10% sundering. You will hit 100-120 dmg every 5 seconds or so. After someone has 15-30% dp it shouldn't take but 2 hits to kill them.

Expand your minds people.

Running charge is NO suppliment for not running sprint. You can't rely on there being another warrior around you to "Charge" you everytime you need a speed buff. Neither can you rely on the warriors being bunched up enough for charge to hit them all, let alone most of them. What if one or both of the "Charge" warriors go down? Then you are left with no speed buffs what so ever so the opponent can kite all they want.

You are wrong. First off a definition for you. A "spike" is a fast burst of damage, so you want to quickly chain 2-3 skills to pull it off.

If you are only running one warrior, the Axe Penetrating/Eviscerate/Executioners spike is the highest damage fast adrenaline spike going. Considering it includes a Deep Wound.

Second to that (if you already have an axe warrior in your build, or some other form of deep wound) is Sword. Pure/Galrath/Final is yet again huge spike damage if you get the Final Thrust off when they are under 50% health. (Which you should be doing if your spike is any good.)

Hammer is SLOW. Even with an IAS it is very difficult to spike with a hammer. A typical high damage hammer chain like 'Devastating-> Mighty-> Bash-> Irresistable' will be a lot of damage yes, but it is far too slow to be considered a spike. Hammer warriors are arguably the best PRESSURE damage, but certainly not spike.

If you want to disagree, look at the numbers yourself before you reply.

[QUOTE=krammit]What a big debate.. Gikya is even whipping out the "M" bomb.

Hehe, sorry I just find it irritating when people don't read the topic and just want to keep bringing up things we've already discussed.

On the first post the author stated that swords do more damage without deep wound, but not with deep wound, and because of this iway should always have axes in it in order to keep inflicting deep wound. Of course having everyone in the team continually inflicting deep wound on the same character seems redundant and in this situation increased raw damage is more effective. The debate was always whether we should have some swords or no swords, but never about whether we should keep axes in the build because clearly we should.

The problem about toying with what weapons IWAY run is that it would affect how easy it is to set up, which is clearly its strongest point.

IWAY warrior: Res sig, IWAY, Tigers Fury, Axe Skills, Sprint, Slot for spirit. Go to AD1, find group, tomb.

That is why IWAY works, the sheer simplicity of the build. If you start messing around, adding warriors with different weapons for different purposes... requiring people to be on certain targets so that deep wound and damage is spread correctly... it just wont work.

SO: Would IWAY work better with swords or hammers in addition to axes? Yes. Would it be practical? No.

I agree with JR. Unless you're running Guild IWAY, or with friends, you don't normally have the time or inclination to make alterations to the build and calm the ensuing disputes on why x is 'noob' or y is 'retarded.' The absolute best thing that IWAY has going for it imo, is that you can get into a PVP IWAY group in no time at all, and, for example, even unskilled/inexperienced players can get past burial mounds on a regular basis. Obviously if you want to complexify the build, fair enough, but seeing as IWAY is so well-countered these days why not team up with the friends you made IWAYing and play different builds, or even just heavily modded IWAY.
