Default W/E Doesn't anyone have any imagination?

Since Observer mode I've been watching a lot of GvG and HOH tournament play and I've never seen so many W/E builds (exactly the same). Gale, Eviscerate, Excutioners Strike, Penetrating Blow, Rez Sig, Sprint, Frenzy/Tigers Fury. They are all the same with the exception of one skill, but, the majority are usually the same.

Doesn't anyone use their OWN imagination and build something unique? Or does just everyone find out someone else's build and copy it?

This from most of the top rated guilds I've watched also. If you see a W/E you can be 99.9% sure it's going to be identical to any others you have seen.

That's pretty pathetic when a character has over 150 skills and you see the same skills on pratically every player of that type.

I haven't looked at the other classes yet like monks, ele's and mezzers and necros, but, somehow I expect I'm going to see a lot of the same there as well. Pretty pifitul people have to copy others builds instead of building something unique.

I so agree with you, and it does not stop there. Here the other day I was playing with my pre-necro, and I have never seen so many W/E before. Just like anyone wanna go make a top pvp warrior, because they have seen it on Observer mode.

Well, my w/e is different :-D
I have the requisite conjure flame setup, and an earth tank, but I also have a shock warrior whose main damage comes from Tactics, and is powered by ViM.

You can't have Tiger's Fury on a Gale Warrior.

Its FToM build. Just like 2 knockdown Hammer, TF Warrior, etc.

It requires skill to to make a build. You can't expect the world to be gifted to create efficient builds. We all want to win.

Best way to fight it? Create a better build yourself.

It's the nature of the beast. E/Me's, R/Me's, Mo/E's, and even Wa/Mo's have all had turns being extensively duplicated in PvP. When people get owned by something, they want to use it and, in turn, own other people.

And there's not much more annoying than being on your back every 3 seconds.

W/E has high DPS and is pretty well rounded for damage and survival in Tombs and GvG. That said, there are different flavors of W/E depending on the needs of the team build. But the basics for a high damage axe warrior are probably going to remain the same until something changes the fact that its a reliable source of constant high DPS.

Knockdown/aftershock was always sub-par it just took people forever to realize it. Gale War/eles are not a fotm, they're basically one of the most efficient warriors you can have and hence why they are used so much especially among korean teams.

Unique builds that are inefficient are either one hit wonders, or they might flop on the first try. A while back, gale axe warriors was unique, but it was also very efficient and useful, which is why it sticks. And until skill changes are made you are going to see lots of gale/tigers fury warriors assuming warriors are still viable in whatever metagame it is.

People use R/W for hammer nowadays .

R/W thumper build and W/E gale-frenzy are probably the most efficient melee fighters for now on.

It's not a FoTM, it is just a very decent axe warrior build.

Warriors have 1 job in pvp. To keep pressure on monks and mes. Only real way to get around a warrior's dmg output is to run away until a teammate can save you. Since you are running you are not casting.

Ele is added for shock/gale. This gives the warrior some interrupt. All you have to do is shock/gale>frenzy/ts>evis>executioner's. This allows you to hit with every hit w/o having to chase the target. Also used to interrupt res.

You cannot find a more efficeint warrior.

oh hoh, yes i can :-D
well, for a specialized purpose at least. But gale axers work well as parts of burst damage builds, and they also are good as, like you said, pressuring casters.

Very few players have EVER had an imagination. It has only become more apparent with the addition of Observer mode, because now any Wammo can view a top PvP battle and clearly see mending spike is no longer FOTM.

I enjoy spending time developing builds, some people don't. If somebody has a few hours to play with a week, are they going to spend that developing a build they might never win a game with, or jump straight into something enjoyable and effective and go PvP with their friends ?

People using FotM builds is not a problem as long as a few are working on the next one. The signs are already there that W/E is on the way out (though won't disappear, it's too effective a build), and before you know it you won't be able to move for degen Me/N's designed to counter them.

Another thing to consider, is when you all turn up in Tombs/Guild Hall and try and put a team build together, do you want to spend an hour discussing the exact skills each member should take, or just tell somebody to grab a Gale Warrior ? There's a reason ANet included pre-made PvP builds (though they're mostly useless), GW PvP is about getting in there and playing asap, and having a good time doing it.

Warriors tend to have only 1 free skill slot available for the 2nd profession skills and have small amounts energy.

So gale is a nice choice for 5 in Air and 5 energy, also available is Drain enchant, plague touch.

Arcane Thievery
For 5-29 seconds, one random spell is disabled for target foe, and Arcane Thievery is replaced by that spell.

W/E's only have one spell: Gale.
