Default The State of Ascalon Arena

Having not set foot in Ascalon arena in a very long time, I was shocked to discover a few things this time around.

Almost ALL players are packing an elite, Droknar's armor, and/or a max damage weapon.

What's the point anymore? They should keep the PvP arena in pre-searing (with a max level of 15).

Too bad alot of people who are pro-droks run support it just because they can cheat their faction in ascalon arena because they suck too much to earn it the real way. Explaining the tired of grinding excuse gets old pretty fast, espcially when I see poison arrow and drago's flatbow in an arena meant for new players. Why else would you get run to droks? (besides the few who legitly want to skip kryta through the desert)

I agree, they should indeed put an arena in Pre-Searing, and remove the Ascalon one, and the Yak's one. I've even seen someone with FOW Armor in Yak's lol, this is just hopeless.

I think they should limit the Ascalon arena to anyone who hasn't ventured out of Old Ascalon. The Shiverpeak arena should be limited to anyone who hasn't been outside of the northern Shiverpeaks (i.e. everything north of, but not including, Camp Rankor). That way, there will be no elite skills and limited armor levels. People could still use max damage weapons, but it wouldn't be a huge problem.

Are faction rewards there higher than CA/TA?

Has it been a few days since the last Ascalon/Yaks arena thread? I guess so because here's a new one.

I need to get on my next "The sky is still blue" thread. To remind and discuss things that everyone already knows.

Pre searing PvP is a good point. I feel like a hypocrit because I use droks armor, l33t skillz, and max dmg uber modded weapons in Ascalon and Yak's. But I prefer the lvl 20 arenas because the playing is level and it's trule skill vs skill, not gear vs. gear.

I think that's what GW Factions is all about. They will apparently have PvP training and PvP missions in the "new" pre-searing world. So Anet is listening to you guys. and I wholeheartedly agree with Pre searing PvP.
