The fact that you need 6 or 7 Necros to run the spike well should clue you in that the spike is fairly weak.

The fact they lost whilst testing out a new build isn't worth a mention.

Of course if Math were running IWAY and got beat by a team with 4 henchies then maybe that would be something.
lol no biggie man. no worries

Not only should that clue you in, but also the fact that you need a secondary spike skill to follow up in case you didn't kill the target with the first.

I've faced half a dozen or so "blood spike" teams and been on 2. All the teams we faced got utterly shut down by infuse as did we our first attempt. The second time we ran it, each spike had 3-4 shadow-strikers and 4-3 gazes timed to hit just after the shadows. That ran with limited success. That's the only way it comes close to being a true spike and even then it takes seven spikers to spike one target, it's a bitch to time correctly, and the 2-second shadow strikes are just asking to get interrupted. Even 1 knock-down on a shadow-striker and you've just lost 110 points off of your spike. It's kind of like working much harder to get a crappier earth spike.

you guys are missing the most important thing about this spike, its having 7 monks on your team! ultimate defense, you should see powers running this (i doubt he will anymore since he got r12 and doesnt care bout fame anymore). The ability to spike and having 7 monks on your team is awesome.

I think I've come across a potential fotm that was being used by les grosbilloux earlier. It consisted of 7 smite monk/rangers all with pets and an ele/monk.

It wasn't a spike in the usual sense but they were certainly taking multiple targets down extemely fast. Looked quite impressive.

Not sure exactly what the build was but it was pretty sick and didn't rely on any form of balling up.

All their character names were Pokeway xxxxxxx. Not sure if this has been around before?

We tried running this for a laugh in tombs the other day (when we bother with tombs we generally run a surge team) and I must say its a challenging build.

The main problem I found with it was that you often had to miss a spike so that you could heal a teammate, (and with hp and seed as your main heals cast time is nasty).

You are also heavily dependant on your ranger for energy, if he sucks or gets killed, you run out of energy fast.

Our spike was pretty sloppy given it was the 1st time we ran the build but we still managed to win quite a few matches.

Eventally we got owned by a team with heavy interupts (cry of frustration esp) and meteors shower/malestrom.

This can be a tough build to go against if you have a good spirit spammer on board.

That said i'd still be more worried going against a good rangerspike or rainbow spike team.

It's a great holding build, but probably one of the easiest spikes to disable in the game. It can still spike well through fertile with everyone up, but disabling one or 2 of the necros is pretty easy for most common balanced builds, especially with the long cast time of strike/gaze.

But once they're on an alter, damn it's ahrd to shift them.

its easy to infuse or disable the spike , but it have huge healing power , and unless you kill them fast they will get a lucky spike ...
