Default A fun E/N build to try in 4v4 randoms

Hello all, well, this build I'm about to post, was spawned, after watching fragility/Virulence mesmers, and their use of the skill VIRULENCE. Which, if you don't know, lets a player stack disease,poison,weakness onto a person, as long as they were already suffering from a condition. Well, Because I like having alot of energy..as well as watching people's health degenerate quickly AND having spell bombs, this build came about...Here's the skills firstly:

Malign intervention or glpyh of energy (or w/e skill suits your need)
Immulate
Virulence (your elite)
Fireball
Plague touch
Death nova
Consume corpse
Res. Signet.

The attributes:

Death magic (12)
Energy Storage (4) 3+1
Fire Magic (16) 12+4

The weapon:
Hale PvP Dead staff of Enchanting
+30 health, +20% longer enchantments (could also use a second +30 health mod instead)

Can also use a wand with faster recharge for death magic skills and a focus for faster recharge and cast rate for them on switch, but you risk having lower health.

In order to get Virulence working, you must first cast Immulate(gives the condition of burning), which, if you have your fire magic maxed out, the burning time on it will be enough, to where you can cast Virulence on them immediately after. After you've unloaded this combo on them, follow up with fireball and immulate once again, to get them burning, as well as make their health drop even faster, while the poison/disease is still in effect. Plague touch is there, of course, to get rid of any conditions an opponet may set on you, which you can use to your advantage if it's something such as bleeding, and cast Virulence on them, and then Immulate thereafter. Death nova would be for added fun, when party members die, and opponets are close, the poison bomb of doom will make them poisoned, making it even more fun, once again, to immulate them. Consume corpse, will for the most part, be your health and mana gainer, it's not much, but there's not much else you could do for health gaining with this type of build. Malign intervention, is there if you want to stop those pesky monks from gaining health from that annoying healing thing they do XD. You could swap this out, for glyph of lesser energy if you wish, if you think youll get in a synch without energy. But at 52 mana, you really don't need more than that for this build.

About the attributes..

You want death magic to be maxed, to get the maximum effect for virulence lasting longer, the longer, the more degen they suffer, and helps as well when it's still on when you immulate them for a second time. Fire magic is maxed, so fireball will be a sort of..big bang attack, in case their near death, and you want a finishing move, or just to lower them further in health. You CAN also take a point or two out of fire magic, and drop them into your energy storage, if you feel you would do better with more energy.

Good side to this in 4v4 Randoms...

1)Not many people expect an ele to come up to them with a skill such as Virulence..as I myself would never expect this lol, so you are still less of a priority target, than a mesmer, necro, and monk would be

2)It's a fun build, it's not a serious build that must be played to perfection, it can be tweaked or modified in some ways, to suit your need, and is even more insanely fun, when you degen a person,coupled with a fireball together, for a quick death before they realize their health is rapidly deteriorating lol.

3)Spike rangers won't have much of an easy time trying to interupt you, as most of the skills take one second to cast, with fireball being two, just hide behind cliffes..walls..etc, for when you need cover, and you should be fine. Remember you can plague touch that apply poison or poison arrow or crippling shot they give you if that happens.

Downsides..

1)Monks with mend ailment can REALLY give you a bad day with this, as they get rid of your conditions, while gaining health back. Keep pummeling them though with immolate and fireball, while keeping Virulence up on them, it SHOULD be enough to keep them distracted with healing themselves, while your team members wail on the other people.

2)Once a person has seen what you've done to them, they WILL , if revived, come chasing after you, KITE KITE KITE if you see this lol.

3) Successfullness of this in team arenas? I've not yet given this build a go in teams, as EVERY team there, just about, has a monk, as well as more experienced players. So it's a gamble to play there hoping to catch people unawares lol.

Tips..

ALWAYS before the round starts..look to see what targets there are and be aware of what might happen when you're attacking someone else..this build can work on about any class, but the most trouble you'll have against, is monks, because they can heal away the degen quite effectively,hex stackers..I think this says it in itself lol, and those pesky wammos because they like casting healing breeze, endure pain vigorous spirit etc. and keep trying to cancel out your degen -.-....but even they have a hard time..Just get your team to focus together on a target, and this build will help get the job done faster.

If you find yourself hexed, and because you really have no way to counteract this, and can only heal if there's a corpse..go ahead and cast death nova on yourself, and be ready to Kami-bomb yourself on a target when close to zero health, but of course, dish out some damage before you go bye bye .

This build is even more fun when you have a good monk on your team to keep you alive and constantly degenerating targets.

Last words...

Remember, this is just a fun little build I came up with, for people to just have FUN in randoms, I LOVE using randoms for trying different skill combinations out, and this is one that I've found to be most enjoyable..I'll most likely convert my PvE ele to a E/N with these skills just to have some fun with her in pvp randoms lol.

The only problem with this build is that there are just to many interrupting ranger builds out there and IW builds and the like to remain viable.

While you're trying to kill the ranger, he has concussion shot'ed you, and you now cast slower.

He then just proceeds to kill you with arrows that gain a big damage boost from his Spirit+Preparation.

Surely that applies to any build with long cast times not just this. I don't see how IW is any more of a threat to this than to any other build, besides there is always rend enchantments if your that worried about IW. I've never seen a ranger run concussion shot(well maybe 1-2 times) in CA and I play it far more than I should do.
You might want another self defense/heal spell since CA you can't rely on others to do it for you.

i might try this...sounds good and i find ill have a monk most of the time in CA so that shouldnt prove to be much of a problem.

Fire magic doesnt fly in PvP and Death nova doesnt either(that means your teammates have to die for it to be worth anything, and teammates dieing isnt always a good thing...). A half decent interrupt ranger would easily take it down without a second thought.

If you are truly interested in it, using rotting flesh instead of death nova and flare instead of fireball.

Also remember that the most you can have is -10 degen...

Use a Me/N or reverse for a degen Pvper.

As I said earlier, this is more for fun than seriousness, so stating Fire magic doesn't fly, is a matter of oppinion when it concerns fun to me..*because I rather like using fire eles in Randoms..* Death Nova is there for WHEN and IF a partner/ally dies, Nine times out of ten, a team in Randoms you're facing has a Wammo on them, and the target they're attacking *I hope* would be a caster, hopefully that wammo has a low amount of health on them when the death nova goes off, so while they're poisoned from it, you can Immolate them for a fast degen rate, and just kite you butt off, and Immolate again, or Fireball them, Granted your target won't always be a wammo or course not..but the idea is there..and FUN when nova goes off and kills an enemy at the same time. As for ranger interupts, yes, they can interupt death nova, while most of the other skills take one second to cast, and a ranger with Read the wind and savage/disrupting/concussion/punishing shot has the chances of interupting you, but People with the ability to interupt you at a 1 second interval is few and far between. That being a 1 second interupter being a good ranger. But anyways.lastly, yes I know about -10 degeneration being the max you can achieve, which is why there's only immolate+virulence, because that achieves enough degeneration as it is. And Mesmer/Necros and vice versa are so commonly used in Randoms for Health degeneration it's not even funny, which is another reason I came up with this build...Being different ^^, but anywho, the build is here for fun as well as being a different build than what's used too much in randoms like others out there lol. Lol ok. I guess we just have different tastes of "fun." Fun to me is using a "good" original build.

I can see this being pretty fun in Random arenas- but not going good in TA.

In TA good groups run prot boon monks and your build gives them super powerful mend aliments.

But in RA you'll play plenty of matchs against teams with no monks and this build will probably rock, but then again you could probably just be a monk in RA and win over most of the other teams. /shrug
