well greater conflag is one of those few elites that are an elite not because by itself its too good of a skill by itself but because of the problem it will create being combined with other elites
with this skill, ANET didnt want someone running around spamming greater conflag with oath shot

Not just 1 hex, I never said that (though I never fleshed out thew entire build either) - I toyed with the idea of using an ele/ranger with all fire skills + greater conflag in conjunction with 1 fevered dreams mesmer, 1 virulence necro, 1 sword warrior, 1 oath shot trapper - i actually posted the entire build on another forum for feedback, didnt get any good feedback so I gave up on the idea - its on the ogaming forums if you are curious to see it, just search for 'working on a build' and you will find it, im too lazy to post a link

all i'm saying is that even with cover hexes, it would be unwise to rely on a hex for most of your degen - the current metagame is unfriendly to hexing, unless you're doing mass hexes for pressure, but even then i wouldn't run more than 1 or 2 ppl with mark of roddie. If you want burning there are other ways to set ppl on fire for condition builds.
IMHO, i think a ranger with serpent's quickness and Incendiary Arrows is a much better way to set ppl on fire. Instead of the fevered mezzie, i would run a phantom pain / shatter delusions combo, but that's just me.

Though the build is long buried - the fevered mesmer also carried fragility, phantom pain and shatter delusions. You are definitely right though, there are better ways of getting someone to burn than conflag + mark of rod, I was trying to come up with a different approach in making that build, but it ended up being too easy to counter (unless you face a major noob team) so I buried it. It might be fun to run in TA tho, 1 ele/ranger, 2 war/x, 1 mo/n or mo.me boon protter..
