First let me start by saying that the majority of the players I meet on ts/vent are cool ppl. However, sometimes things can get ugly, especially in r6+ groups.

This is what happened yesterday.

We had some nice wins but eventually we lost to a very good group. One guy on vent totally freaked out. He started to insult us all, saying all kinds of nasty stuff. In short, we did everything wrong in his opnion (he was r9+, rest of us was r6+, maybe that gave him a reason to flame us).

I can understand that u can get pissed off after losing, but going totally crazy, i mean wtf? After all, it's just a game we're playing, out life doesn't depend on it. Of course I like to play as good as possible but not in such a way that u get affraid to make even 1 mistake.

Anyone else had such experiences?

While ts/vent is good for coordination, it should be kept at doing that ONLY. Please recognise that Ts/vent is very efficient at transmitting bad morale & keeping teams off focus as well.

It also sucks when you have your speakers on loud and some douche decides to yell profanity... Them mommy comes down and gets angry. GRR

I can count the humber of genuinely good people i've played with on one hand. Most people are self-indulgent assholes (myself included, muhaha), and that's a fact of life, not of vent or GW.

People like that needs to get a grip on life. And to answer the original question, I did have an experience like that. It was, without doubt, my worst experience on guild wars. After that, I unstalled TS and Vent, and stopped doing ascent for about a month. (Hell, I think I just stopped playing guild wars for like a month) I thought about just unstalling guild wars but I was not about to let one person ruin it for me. But still.... that experience made me took a looooooong break from playing guild wars.

Nowadays, TS and Vent has been reinstalled, but I rarely ever use it if I can help it. I'd use it with my guild, but they have all stopped playing...
