Default PvP Beginner's Guide

Figured I should add a link here to the beginner's guide article so that people can give me feedback.

If you have any suggestions for improvements to the article, please let me know here.

You may want to also give an example mesmer build since you have one for all other classes. Something like an E-drain or Ineptitude/Clumsiness type build since these are fairly easy to play and still be effective.

Also perhaps some hexes that are very bad should be mentioned. You have backfire there, but perhaps mentioning some other hexes like SS(the biggest noob tank killer around) and other big time popular hexes and what to do about some of them while there on you.

Otherwise i think this is a great begginers guide, very informative and easy to understand.

Very nice guide.
Good for those of us who forget the basics from time to time.

Some things you might want to stress that beginner PvPers probably dont understand:
Over-healing
Energy management
E-denial
Warrior hate
Weapon sets, and swapping weapons
Bad elites (they're out there)

Otherwise, maybe a couple links to the more helpful pvp threads would be nice. Well done, though.

Great points, Byron. I'll see what I can do.

And yeah, I've been meaning to add a "Further Reading" section for a while now but haven't got round to it.

I agree that you can definitely play an e-denial mesmer and still be useful - if I can do it the readers of the guide can. But I think in a beginner's guide you're better off playing the likely disruption targets first and then move onto the disrupters (ranger w. distracting shot etc, mesmer). There's actually an argument that I shouldn't include the necro in the build list either but it's solid enough in RA I felt that I had to do it.

Personally, I think that it should be a requirement that everyone play monk at some point because it really helps you understand how to kill them. Hmm, I didn't actually say that in the guide - maybe I should add it.
