While I am only posting this after the first round, we have already had some great matches. I was hoping people would post their favorite moments and thoughts on the event.

Personally I have to say EvIL vs Char match 3 was really spectacular. Char in everyway looked like they deserved to be in this tournament but the tactical advantage of the stolen repair kit was too much at VOD even with EvIL suffering an err=7. (Though Char were down already, I would personally favor the three War team at VOD in an equal hench battle at the flag.)

Match 3 of Rifts vs OUT was also a great one. Rifts split was aggressive and even though they suffered a number of losses, superior flag management and occasional strong mismatches proved to much for OUT.

Any other thoughts? Those weren't the only good ones, just my favorites.

I enjoyed the EW vs VoR Match 1

Their spiking was amazing I must say, was definately fun to see such coordination.

Exactly what I was thinking. For a little bit there it looked like it might be the upset of the century... mad props to Char for an outstanding game.

EW was suffering from lag in that match. Acid left after standing still and running into wall for 10 min. Mee Tie was also standing still most of the time.

All 3 games of RenO vs. iQ were pretty exciting IMO (well, the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes). Game 3 of EviL vs. Char was wild. After that err7 I really wondered if they could hold on. I always like watching EviL's monks in action, they are nuts.

I liked all three EW matches. Love to see blood spike get what is comming to it. (remember when i said two Cry of frustrations will gg it, well it did :P)

The third rifts was definatly a great one.

iQ matches were terrible:after RENO joined the game(match 2) iQ had 0 answer to anything. iQ just stretched 2 losses out to VOD, they never had much of a chance, that build was weak. You wanna know how to run a build like that watch rifts or OUT.

I'm excited to see all the intense strategy that pops up now that people know who they are playing. Like cry of frustration vs blood spike and ward against elements for rifts spike. The plot now thickens. (oh yeah corpse control vs rifts minion build gg rifts you lose)

i hope we have a thread for each round i like the discussion

Rift vs. Out Game 3 was very good to watch. Great ending.

Char vs. Evil Game 3 was also very good. Great ending also.

I loved the Rift vs OUT games. It was cool to see rifts comepletely outmanuever them. And I mean, split spike, how crazy is that?

I liked Charr's 3 war fear me spam. Original. It was awesome how EviL dropped both of Charr's monks at the same time during that match.

btw, Icemonkey, that build always had WvE in it, they didn't pack it just because of rifts.

No spike teams won when matched vs non-spike, though. Was that just fluke?

Other teams monk is rezzed next to evil's war, and with one hit he kills the monk.

Undoubtedly Te vs. EvIL Game 3.
Absolutely seesawing fight; first EvIL's great choke positioning giving them a boost and pressuring Te's base; then Te fighting back going to EvIL's choke, dropping both monks, then an error seven

! Inspired comeback by Te, though. Pity about Trex missing with the cata (but it was good positioning by EvIL at Te's cata) and Bloodlight surviving like ten times where he shouldn't have...Stepn kiting both warriors at the Guild Lord...Star at 60%DP...
Finally a great match. Both teams could have taken it. Although the error sort of spoiled what could have been a better match; with one EvIL monk at 60% all they would have had to do was blackout + adren spike with far more ease; obviously two warriors would have been better than one. GG anyway.

oh man all three TE vs Evil matches were riveting. They were phenominal. Really terrible that pally err7. Te wins that otherwise i think. They had evil on their knees and just had to strike one final time.

I hope this at least encourages a team to run the blackout/knockdown spike. clearly it is one of hte best builds available because it damn near took out evil, probably should have.

A-net hopefully will finally look at this and be like hmm Te basically lost cause of a err.7. Yes i know that maybe evil could have still won but i doubt it. I stayed up to watch this fight and couldnt believe that happened to Te. Yes im a Te fanboy but come on they had everybody fav. guild on the ropes and all is lost cause of a computer. server, internet. issue. I wonder if WM wins if everybody will jump back on there bandwagon lol.

Wonder what happened to Te in game 2, the health graph is just amazing once the bodies start dropping. All three were good games though.

Tbh: I was amazed by the third rift vs OUT match. Not because of the tactics but because both teams made a couple of huge tactical mistakes... (Then again always much easier to comment on that with an overview map

).

My favorite match so far was EvIL vs TE match 3. Shame about the err7. Te probably would've won otherwise although I still think Te gave the victory away. If only they had moved against EvIL and prevented them from ressing their dp-ed out monk EvIL would've stood no chance.

Haven't watched too many match yet due to internet problem, GW seems to be lagging a lot lately. I thought that Evil vs Char game 2 was quite intresting (well...intresting other than that huge long time where nothing happened) It is obviouse that char wanted to wait for VOD so their spikes will be more effective, but I think Evil should have pushed more into Char's base than just waiting for the spike to come. (At least take out a few NPC's)

IQ's game were quite disappointing. their spike was nice in the first game, and I could see how they thought that it might work again so they tried it the second game. But I really wondered why IQ didn't change build in the 3rd game when clearly, their spikes aren't working.

Probably should go watch rifts when I have the time.

I thought that the RenO vs. EW Game 1 was great.

As Victory or Death started, EW clearly had the upper hand because their morale was much higher. RenO, however, had an extra Archer and an extra Bodyguard. So as EW pulled back to the middle of the map at 30:00, a RenO warrior charged down the side towards the enemy base. I can't believe EW didn't notice him tbh. Anyway, in the gamebreaking moment, the warrior got the aggro of the EW npcs as they were running out to the stand. This let RenO's npcs reach the stand first and take the high ground. EW had no chance of capping a flag after that.

Good stuff.
