The bad thing about this idea is that you are still thinking along the lines of adding a "ungimp me please" skill to eles. This is bad because no matter what skills are added that ungimps eles, you still only have 8 skill slots to play with, and having a skill that is basically the "ungimp me" option, really leaves one with no choice but to pick that skill and that skill above all else, otherwise you are still gimped. Eles need to be fixed from the base up so that they aren't already gimped from the get go, not continue to let them be gimped and have a skill that fixes that. I understand about needing to make ele skills more useable by only eles and not abused by other classes, but i'm not sure if having the fixes that would make eles useful, be skills instead of base fixes, being a good idea.

Eles basically have too many DoT AoE spells. Eruption, Searing Heat, get the main boost at the very end of casting. Firestorm, Lava Front, Maelstrom, are just useless. You get 3seconds worth of damage/effects before in PvE enemies move. And in PvP you get even less. Maelstrom lands on your head as a monk, help what will i do.... move 3 steps to the left? Problem solved.

I say make some of the Ele's AoE spells have an initial impact damage bonus of -50 to -75 HP, increase the AoE range, and add armor penalties to make them more effective against the Warrior class.

For instance, have Searing Heat start off by adding -75 impact damage from the start before DoT, the range should be Ward size, and for ever AL level above 40 add a 5% damage bonus for the DoT. An 80 AL foe then would take 2x more damage every second. At 100 AL they take 3x damage. That keeps the extra penalty vs. the vulnerable "soft" classes low to zero while still making them powerful against the studded Warriors.

I actually agree with you.
To not force eles on using glyph of concentration, how about changing glyph into a stance, which would make ele pay 3 extra energy on top of the spell cost regardless of interuption or not, for when ever a spell is casted? That way, spell for the time of stance doe not gets interupted. This should be part of Energy line, and should only work with ELE skills ( for working with ele skills, you guys decide) A version of mantra of resolve, but pays energy regardless beng interupted or not, may sound a bit fair?

There is no way on Melandru's green Tyria that ANET would do a drastic redesign of an entire class. So in my mind the best we can hope fore is to suggest some new skills or skills changes that might help out a class. As much as I would like to see CastTime/Recharge Time added into Energy Storage, it will never happen I am sure. It would be helpfull if ANET actually would respond to some of the concerns of the actuall people playing this game within some of these threads that they are reported to actually watch. Untill they do we will never really know what their take on this is and if they feel the Ele is working the way they want it to.

Ah, i probably shouldn't have used the word "base" as loosely as i did, what i meant was fixing the skills already existing, nothing as serious as redesigning the whole class, something i agree they will never do. They are already numerous posts by many people in detail on how to fix existing skills, so i shall not bother to elaborate, sorry about the confusion.
