If you are going to rely on Scourge Healing to stop the other team pumping out Heal Parties, then you need multiple copies of it. Just one is not going to be able to spread it fast enough to make it a problem.

This is why I suggested putting the Crip-Shot guy in the front squad, to keep Heal Parties pinned down with Distracting Shot/Savage Shot. Also other interrupts such as Power Drain on the Tainted.

Doesn't matter. Rotting flesh without tainted is a horrible idea. Putting disease on yourself (which that will, by the way, constantly) is stupid.

Not really.

Not having Tainted also means disease will be spreading from and too everyone. It will be near impossible for the other team to keep themselves clean. If you have a build which has the ability to overload on Heal Parties (for example if it contains 2 E/Mo's with Ether Prod/Heal party that will be at the stand) then you can really rock the other team with it. Basicly you beat them through mass degen on both sides, but having the ability to power through it yourself.

Tainted without Rotting is a waste of time, Rotting without Tainted is viable in the right build.

Your comment about Rotting/Tainted appeared to be a general comment, not specific to this build, so was my reply.

it was a general comment but i see what you mean with two ether prodigy heal parties at the flag stand. I cant see it working under any conditions though. A n/mo with heal party cant compare to a ether prodigy hp spammer, and thats what this guys build has, and the only other heal party is on a runner, so I dont think rotting flesh w/o tainted will work for him.

How about just using rot at the right time instead of randomly mashing buttons? Like when you have the opposing team on their back foot and just need that extra oomph to finish them off fire a rot. Selecting the right target to rot would also be nice (you know like not one of their warriors that spread the disease back onto you). Also, if your warriors can avoid spreading the disease back onto your midline and backline this helps too.

Even if you target a monk in their backline the disease can still spread. If it hits one of their warriors they can bring it to you, or a mesmer thats pushed up, or anything really. You can't just say "only use it on the right targets". Its going to spread; thats a fact. If you only intend to use it when they are low anywhy why bring the skill - thats limiting yourself way too much.

Agreed, while to say, no worries - i just rot that monk standing at the back, by himself with 1/3 health, next thing you know the flagger comes charging past, picks up the disease and wipes it all the way down to your midline.

Why pressure your healing capacity with a self-inflicted problem, play safe, play smart, take the Tainted build.

Because you can pressure the opposing team far more, through being prepared for the 'problem' and inflicting it at a time of your choosing.

Used correctly, Diease will hurt the enemy FAR more than it will hurt you. Using a real elite instead of Tainted can make an otherwise dead character useful.

Regarding Scourge Healing: The biggest threat to a degen build is heal party spammers. If any of those heal party spammers are standing in combat, Distracting Shot is the answer. However, one cannot interupt a spammer standing 100 miles out of combat (Elmo runners). In that situation, the best way to make sure heal party cant ruin your day is to make sure that he cant cast it every 2 seconds like he wants to. Scourge on 4-5 people (a perfectly reasonable expectation) deals ~200-250 damage per heal party to the caster, or ~150-200 including the HP heal. The rate of Heal Party will all of a sudden be limited because the Elmo cant heal party constantly without dying. Heal Party every 2 seconds can save you from degen. Heal Party every 10 wont.

In reality, it's generally too difficult to keep scourge healing on enough characters to be effective with only one guy. And it takes up most of his time/energy and forces him to spec very highly into smiting which can make him rather useless for much else.
