OMFZG no shadow of fear on a **/N post patch? lol jk. good build, just a little unconventional with price/spirit. using sof instead would save a skill slot and alot of cast time, and would mitigate just as well (I think)

The Failures combo is energy management.

People who use Migraine for easy interupts are scrubs. Power Drain is energy management.

No arcane conundrum? I sometimes run into energy problems using it, but two people at 2x casting times is fun.

It depends entirely on the situation/build.

Here's an example of a build with Migraine to be used with interrupts:

Migraine {E}
Conjure Phantasm
Wastrel's Worry
Power Spike
Power Leak
Power Drain
Distortion
Ressurection Signet

I forget the attributes, but you end up with a 17 sec Migraine (15 sec recharge, 2 sec cast, + u have some fast cast), cover it with Phantasm and spam Wastrel's Worry. Interrupt anything the target tries to cast while either doing damage (power spike) or draining energy (power leak), very effective on ele's/necro's and healing monks. Power Drain is your energy source.

He was talking about using Migraine to make spells easier to catch to interrupt, not using it in an interrupt heavy build.

I like toast too Vindexus

Interesting guy! I love using the failures combo with spirit shackles as an alternative curse build to the sort of "standard" one since it is damage and energy gaining and is pretty ugly. This guy seems pretty powerful, do you have warrior or ranger interrupts in your build since the mesmer doesn't have many?

This build was used in tandum with another similar migraine mesmer. We also had two Warriors, one had Disrupting Chop, the other had both Savage Slash and Distracting Blow.

I would like to know what reason you had for posting this build? Out of curiosity.

Well, glenn. I'm gonna take a stab here at being helpfull. He wanted to put out a very strong GvG mesmer build for people to test out. A lot of people struggle when putting together builds, and posts like Vind's really do help.

I posted this build because I thought it was good (it is) and figured other people would benefit from it. The Spirit of Failure + Price of Failure combo isn't well known or used at the moment, so I figured I'd bring it to light in tandum with some other awesome skills.

I really do like toast.

wait, the spirit + price combo isnt well known? I thought it would be one of the easiest combos to see when you got those skills...at least I ran it a few times before. Course, I was specifically doing all warrior hate which didnt work too well.
Spirit of failure+ price of failure+ spirit shackles + spiteful spirit + empathy >.>

I'm guessing you can cover price/spirit with Conjure, just as one would do with migraine, however, because of energy, you might not be able to cover. It's not like they'd be more interested in removing price/spirit over removing migraine anyways. Hehehe

I suppose using the two failure spells is better than SoF for a few reasons.

1. It requires 2 hex removals instead of 1
2. Everytime the person misses you gain 4 energy and they take damage
3. If blinded then you are gaining a lot of energy and they are taking a decent amount of damage

I'm guessing having the two on a target gives them a 31.25% chance to miss rather than 50%
