I am not at all bored with RA.

I am a bit disappointed that there is a Faction's cap and, then, I can not earn other reward than experience...

Playing with world players in the international districts is one of the things that keeps my attention in Guild Wars. And the RA is, by now, the most likely arena where this may happen, beyond the languages barriers!

No build problems, you should learn how to play against a monked team with a non monked team... for example, try a mesmer...

Well, I was tooling around in the arenas with an Ele\R Thunderclap build. Not much damage, but it is really, really fun to play. On top of that, most RA and a high percentage of TA groups have no idea what Thunderclap is.
I can't remember my attributes but I do know marksmanship was at 9, and I had 60 energy. With a short bow anybody trapped under the KD of this skill cannot do anything. It's a complete and total lockdown.
It's a barrel of fun to trap an entire team under it, and the comments you get make it even more fun.

P.S. - In ta, I've shut down completely the following teams:
Minion Factory
Blood spike (LOL they bunched up, and all got locked in)
Ranger spike
Any 1 monk team is without any healing, as monks are helpless under this skill.

I returned to RA a few nights ago and was appalled at how bad it had become. It was never a battle ground for competent PvP'ers, but it seems that all the decent players have been drawn away to HA or GvG. I'm all for trying out new and interesting builds, but when you see Earthquake Warriors and trapper Mesmers running around, you've gotta wonder what these people were smoking..

When you run a build in Random Arenas, the only person you can rely on is yourself. You have to be able to heal, remove conditions/hexes, use defensive skills and deal damage all at the same time.

I run this warrior build in random arenas. This has gotten me to team arenas twice w/o a monk in the month I've been running it, 7 other times when with a monk, and if I get one win with a team, I am astounded if I dont get atleast 4-5.

W/E
10 Strength + 1
10 Hammer Mastery + 1
9 Tactics + 2

Devastating Hammer {E} (Knock Down)
Heavy Blow (Knock Down + Massive Damage)
"To The Limit!" (Adrenaline Gain)
Shock (Knock Down) (Sometimes Gale, but thats spendy, 4 sec KD though)
Rush (Speed Boost, Get Those Pesky Runners)
Endure Pain (Survival)
Healing Signet (Survival)
Resurrection Signet (Drrr)

The biggest reason I lose in RA is because people dont res, that is what annoys the hell out of me. Bring your res sigs people and use them!

Or I run this if I feel like just obliterating someone. Not too good at the surviving aspect.

E/N

Air Attunement
Lightning Surge {E}
Shadow Strike
Lightning Strike
Vampiric Gaze
Dark Pact
Blinding Flash
Resurrection Signet

Throw lightning surge on them and right after use shadow strike for 72 + 89 dmg in one second and spam your other skills. Tell your team what your doing and they usually die.

I love random arena's.

What I like best is what most people don't like and that's the unpredictibility.

I'll take everything and anything in. I don't get uptight over other people running whack builds because I run them myself. I don't think anyone can make it to teams from randoms every time but I make it a lot and many times it's without a monk.

My only complaint about RA is the uptight people. Many times the other team has a perfect team build while your team is lacking. I'm competitive and will try to the last second but I'm not going to get mad at someone for that loss.

Many times the only way for the less luckily built team to win is for the other team to not even be decent.

That's the way RA is and I like it like that.

I go in RA to test builds. I've seen some E/W sword warriors 0.0

he screamed how were would get pwned form his AOE plus sword damage.

I killed him before he got halfway to me 0_0

I think that there are two things which may make Random Arenas seem to be low level. A) that it is a starters test to pass to TA, B) the system of always disbanding the defeated team and keeping the victorious team.If either both were disbanded or both were kept during several rounds, it would not be so easy to win so many times in a row.

I do not see the Random Arenas as a place to try builds intended for other battle grounds, in my view, the builds that may be relevant for Random Arenas are not for GvG, and may be much less relevant for HA. For example, in Random Arenas a player may expect to have to play in a team without monk when in HA the same player may expect to play in a team with a monk; this may make more relevant to bring a selfhealing skill in RA than in HA.

Default I love R.A.

I love the R.A. I like the low pressure. What I hate are the griefers. I hate when people complain about others not brining rez sigs when your team loses.( 1.) I usally just rezed them and they are mad because they didnt get rezed a second time!!!! (2.) I rarely see that person rez when others die before him. I hate when your team loses people blame everyone else but themselves. I hate how seriously people take a single match in a random arena...I mean all in all folks...even in ta and gvg etc. it is STILL just a game! lets not get our undies in a bunch over a R.A. match. I hate when people call anyone a NOOB. I hate when people arnt at least polite but is it so hard to type gg or gj. you know...sometimes there are people on your team that might not be as good as you...so what....they still want to play there game and have fun...not get yelled at....i guess i could go on and on all day but agian...it is just a game....I just want to play it!

Well said Solvi, I'm sorry to say I have experienced all that you have written.

I have met many friendly people in RA but there are always a few that can get you down when they act just as you have described.

Hehe...dunno what's the fuss about, really. RA is fun, if nooby. Hell, I'm a PvP noob myself, yet fighting most of people there makes me feel like pro (probably teh reason I stick around).

Never got much grief there. Did have loads of fun and long winning streaks. Played yesterday with someone claiming to be r8 (and sounded exp'd). Nice and long winning streak until we got oveconfident & reckless.

But I do agree...RA is simply put, a circus of various builds and combos. It's not like you can pre-arrange things and all depends what teammates you got and how fast you can (if you can) start playing like a group (or a band of loosely-intermitten individuals ). It's great for me to practice - not teamplay (to a really small extent) - but more build execution of my beloved shock-axe...btw starting to think Axe Rake > Penetrating ...kitin' bastrids here's somethin for ya!
