Default At Launch of Faction. Alliance Battle Issue

OK I like that the alliance battles are for your allied side only now. That solves one problem with leavers and such. But their is another MAJOR problem with the way it is right now...

You only see the 4 of the 12 in your party.... How can you go off to help a group in trouble if not on the party screen. you can't even team chat with them to see if they need help....

I monked a 12 party group during the preview event with no problem as long as I can see them. and tell when they need help. Now its really difficult to tell not only where they are but also if they are under attack and such...

Please bring back the full 12 player Party list in some way. If you want the primary 4 great just add the others under the allied tab on the list. Like pets... So we can see them.

Better yet, add a new tab for pets and make allies seprate and put them in there... that would work best... that way we can all team chat AND see each other for assistance...

Thank you.

How did you get into an alliance battle? I finally made it to House de whatever on the Kurzick side but I couldn't seem to find the way into the battles.

it could be that at that place you do alliance battles are still a beginning part. I guess that you may be able to see the full party in other alliance battles. Just guessing

You can access the alliance battles from the guild hall if you still have some faction standing left from the preview event. That's what you need to have is alliance faction standing to get into the alliance battle area. Our guild had exactly 1 Kur alliance standing left when the game launched so we were able to go there right away.

Also note you can not go the other side anymore from the Hall. only side you have standing with...

Hmmm, wonder how you get to the battles if you can't go through a guild hall?

Yeh i agree i liked it better from before. when we had 12 players in the party list it was alot easier to communicate with one another. They really messed up with just 4 player parties. Its just not as fun. And to do alliance battles you need to do the primary quests until you get both the spear and the urn then defeat shiro for the first time.

ANET went on and on about 12 vs 12 battles being full of teamwork and such. Now they reduce us to three 4 man teams? How can an ALLIANCE work as a team, if you can't even see what your other team is doing?

I don't see the reason behind removing the 12 man party menu.

People loved the whole 12 man battle. It's just... why?

Unhappy Alliance Battles not as fun

Well, the ever anticipated wonderful Alliance Battles we all loved during preview is another 'what seems' nerfed, our entire guild actually loved signing on and going there to play all the time...that place use to be PACKED! now ur lucky if there's even 2 teams of 4 to make since Factions went live...ho hum!

Yesterday got a few games in but people were frustrated over the bad bad bad communications of not being able to play as a 12 person team...we tried teamspeak but some didn't have mics and such so it didn't work out well. Another thing is that MM's weren't that effective like before no great overpowering minion armies were able to be made and another thing is you can't go in solo and just join into a 12 person group...you have to be with a team of 4 and people are getting picky - they want rangers and nukers all the time and maybe a monk - at least others entering solo had a chance to play now everyone is just frustrated and annoyed at the politics of picking a team....the poor wamos are never getting picked.

One more thing...people started to leave during battle and well....I don't know who's side was leaving unless they're on my 4 man team. I've vented and now here's my plea!! ANET PLEASE PUT ALLIANCE WARS BACK 2 WHAT IT WAS DURING THE PREVIEW IT WAS BETTER....NOW IT"S A GHOST TOWN!

Because many of us do not know how to get in them. If you share this info it may not be so empty.

If you don't have an NPC in your Guild Hall, how do you get to the Alliance Battle locations?

there is an NPC in both Cavalon and House of Zu Heltzer that takes a pledge of loyalty to either faction. this will give your alliance an Alliance standing amt... you can then talk to another NPC in that town to go to the alliance battles. Also note once you have alliance standing points the Faction Priests appear in your guild hall as well.

I think I understand my problem now. My guild leader has neither pledged to a side nor has allied us with an alliance, therefore I am locked out until such time. /sigh

I wish things were more like they were in the FPE. I didn't need for my guild leader to have pledged to a side to take part. Guess I need to find another guild as there is no telling how long it will take him to "get around to it".

You guys may have enjoyed random 12v12 chaos, but the problem in the FPE was that this chaos ignored the main objective entirely - the objective of capturing map areas. So ArenaNet decided to facilitate the accomplishment of the main objective by forcing 4-man squads to work amongst themselves and capture the map, since that's how the most successful teams played.

Random 12v12 chaos isn't exactly quality PvP.

Ok enough with the random 12v12 isnt quality PvP. Im sry if you want the top rate competition then join a guild and GvG to your heart's content!

The random 12v12 allowed players to test new builds and HAVE FUN!!!!!!!
Even when poeple left it annoyed the HECK out of me, but hey im still having fun kicking Luxon rear. Also it allowed for more coorindation when the whole team can communicate with each other. I mean not being able to talk to your allies, Anet, im sry, wat were you thinking? Now all you have done is eliminate a good source of fun for all players, and instead force us to spend 20min to get a group since poeple are so picky. Also by forcing groups then you leave a team open to a group of quitters who like to be jerks! Now instead of 1 or 2 poeple leaving you could have groups of 4 leaving, which makes it even less fun. I mean after playing alliance battles i decided to buy factions, but fortunately for me i have not yet, and i am still deciding if that is what Anet did to Alliance battles what else has Anet done to the game.

Absolutely User!!

I totally agree, especially with the statements over HoH and GvG already providing for large scale highly organized play.

What are players like myself to do when we want fast paced, but not necessarily serious play? Random arenas get tiring after a while due to small size and repetitivenss, and players already have small scale organization from TA anyways.

12v12 brought back so many great memories of battlefield 1942/2 and even with disorganization, it rocked, but put together a small amount of coordination (voluntarily) and it was spectacular!

Don't force us into intense competitiveness, let the PvE players like myself slowly get into it, and 12v12 provided the perfect opportunity....

...until now

Just 1 quick note, Alliance Battles allowed for ppl whose ranks were <3 to actually play pvp, in HA if your R2 or below how the heck could you build fame cause no one is picking an R2 for anything...in Alliance Wars fame means nothing it was for everyone and it was the once place where new ppl could learn with a group and get good fast.

I must admit that during FPE our guild leader made it a point to build faction so that we'd have them in our guild hall so now we can go back and forth we have '1' point left with them and can't get back in to battle since no one is there to build more - I'm scared the NPCS will dissapper very soon YIKES!

Here is the concept change I was talking about earlier that we would like to see for faction Battles.
With this concept Heal Party would still only heal your Primary Party of 4 as well as other party effects like aegis and ect...

I am guessing this was the purpose of modifying this party screen on Anets part to prevent overpowering Aegis and Heal Party type skills.

However this will allow us to see the others as allies, (Similar to allied NPCs) and heal them individually as needed or be able to
go to their position to help them when in trouble. As well as be able to TALK TO THEM in party chat during a battle!!!

And Yes Hell Guild Huntress I miss the ability to just join with what you got. come in hit enter battle and wait till there are 8 to join.. bang your in. if you got 4 or 3 or 2 or just you... If you got 4 great.. if just you its mixed up to add you to a group that needs the number of people you have to make 12 total. Just like in FPE. I really miss that functionality.
