Ventius: touche, Clinic's math = pass, Clinic's reading comprehension = dismal failure.

Ninja: what the hell is 'a neck'

Really, I cant see the problem with skips, with the possible exception of the fame farming complication as per JR's earlier post.

Anyone who doesnt think 2 mesmer builds are fotm obviously doesnt tomb much in euro hours. EVERY SINGLE TEAM=2 esurge(one nec one ele) warrior ele, earth ele, open either fire ele or oath trapper.

I think Rust's problem was more the way it was phrased, not the actual meaning.

Wrong, 2 mes builds arn't nub, just mesmers staying on 1 target no matter what is nub. Intelligent mes's change targets depending how the team is doing. Eg. if the monks are getting burned the f*** out of they'll drain/migrain the offending mesmers. gg

Umm, it has been a very rare occasion when tombs was not infested with the same few builds all the time? I mean really, I can't remember when there wasn't several favored builds run 90 some odd percent of the time. These popular builds become termed FotM but the truth is this: barring friends or guildies with past experience it's a bit difficult to find players that will know how to run a build they are not familiar with effectively enough for most teams to not rage. FotM has become such a derogatory term for builds that are simply known well enough to be run by a majority of pick up teams. And if your not in a pick up team then try to feel for the poor guy looking for random people to compete with him in tombs. I would be the first to say tombs is boring because of having to fight the same teams over and over, but it's simply the nature of the game in its current incarnation. As for skips they are simply necessary in order to keep tombs matches flowing smoothly, would you rather wait another ten minutes to fight the very next map?

All this talk of 2 mesmer builds when it is so clear that 3 mes builds are the undeniable pwnge. 3 esurgers = gg monks. No monks = gg. aoe? you betcha.

As for skips, I have to agree with you that they are, at best, unfair. This makes it possible for blood or ranger spike to be so popular desipte relic runs, because you have to be an amazingly coordinated team(fat chance), or facing an utter crap team(less fat chance), or skip the relic runs(good chance). Not to say spikes are gimmicks, no, but they do lack the flexibility I think HA was meant to enact.

Yeah, and GvG teams are nub because they mostly run 2 Boon prots *rolls eyes*

People come up with smart effective builds. People play them. People come up with other smart builds to counter said builds. People play them. Game evolves.

Care to back this up with some points? Plenty of Top 20 guilds ran two surgers and two warriors last season, and they are not nub.

i think the game hates me...

i seem to face bloodspike on broken tower or courtyard every time, twice i faced powers r12 lot on broken tower recently, there bigheaded winning comments annoy me so much 'haha i called to your death'

also anyone else noticed the rarest maps for you to skip to and the most common to skip past are the relic runs? the seem to be almost forgotten.

Ok, i think skipping to halls right from the zaishen is just wrong, but i would rather be in halls than have to play the 6 team free for all that was the old burial mounds. That was just annoying....1 hour matches for 2 fame....whooopie! But the skips are getting annoying. My team did the first 4 matches, then skipped to sacred temples....weak. I really wish unholy temples would be played more often, that is just fun. ok /endrant

You all seem to be forgetting that blood spike is not a "spike" build. It's a holding build. All of my blood spikes are for holding, which is why I don't get past relics. However, I make up for it by holding halls a decent amount.

On that note, blood spike, as a spike group, is the stupidest thing you can possibly do. It gives infusers a whole second to infuse, thus making the spike useless (unless you're me). If you want to do a spike build, try ranger spike.

Uhm... don't do IWAY?

And I like skips, I hate playing the first few rounds and end up getting killed by an IWAY EoE bomb.

Blood spike is the worst as a spike build, it takes down any noob group or IWAY, but if you face a good balanced build, I can tell you, you'll be in for a 30 minute match and end up losing in the end. Blood Spike is easy to infuse and a good WoH monk would back up the infuser so it doesn't have to waste energy on self-healing. BiP Necro > Blood Spike. Other than that, Blood Spike is a 2 second cast spike and easily interruptable.

Conclusion, Blood Spike depends on skips or facing noob teams, holding is not a problem. (Although fighting in Halls against 2 degen builds with loads of interrupts and Migraine Mesmers could be a problem).

Maybe he means before the skill nerfs...
I don't mind skips, they work in my favour sometimes, and against it at others. All in all I think it has been fairly balanced.
