Default Luxon Kurzick inbalance 2! this time its personal

I mentioned not long ago that I had seen a leaning towards the luxons in the game but after much discusion on the forum I think we concluded it wouldnt happen! Whats everyones opinion now? In my experience so far ( I havent been rushing throught the game so Im not so far into the game) I find there might be a small inbalance. I find sometimes that Im waiting round to find a Kurzick opposition in one or two missions on the Jade sea. Is this because they are all doing faction battles or am I just in crappy areas?
One of the answers I gained from some international players is that other countries have leant towards Kurzick. This would appear to balance things a little but only if your not playing when everyone else is in bed!
Anyway whats evryone elses thoughts on this? Anyone noticing anything?

I think it's still too early to speak of faction unbalance, most of the players probably still haven't made it past the city area and into the pvp portion..

Really? Perhaps I am rushing the game! Thinking about it it is a little quiet in some of those lonely out of the way outposts

Yeah it is still too early days, but people are starting to reach the later outposts.

Put it this way, to begin with there was a Kurzick unbalance, now there is a bit of a Luxon one. Then again the battle line bar has been steady for days now, so it could be holding out.

there is almost a non existent inbalance, the battle lines move over the harvest temple every day, its still down the middle.

Leave the Jade Sea missions, go do alliance battles from the guild hall. Much easier to find opponents.

I've noticed that people are leaning toward the Luxons as well. It's kinda sad if you read the histories.

Luxons
They came to power by killing anyone who stood in their way. This could include rivals, friends, even family members. Luxons are more about strength.

Kurzick
They came to power through political means. They spin intricate political webs that they use to bring about the downfall of others. Deception is their weapon of choice.

Personally, I'm going to align with the Kurzicks. I've been reading the official guide and it basically shows that you can't just finish the game without. Missions will require players to be either Luxon or Kurzick (roughly the 8th mission, if you're a canthan) otherwise you can't complete the game. It's kinda sad, but I guess the notion of being neutral isn't a possibility. Oh well.

i think he might be talking about unwaking waters mission as well, i know that when i got there it was hard to even wait for enough luxons, yes i did rush through the story line to get there, but ide rather rush through the story line with my first char and then replay with my others slowly and enjoy the other missions, thats just me. but the unwaking waters mission is a 8luxon&8kurzic mission(for anyone that has not gotten that far yet and does not know). I had the preorder/headstart, and made it very far in the game to the point where i had to hench the facion missions bc i couldnt find anyone to join me. heck, i even remember when cavalon was available to own for under 30k faction, though that did not last long at all, maybe a couple hours. but like i was saying, unwaking waters is tough to do because it depends on there being 8 kurzics on the other side joining you, if not you have to go with 8 henchies, and they dont realize that you must get away from the cursed scales/spores that the dragon sends out, this makes this mission very tough, but with good monks, and enough degen it is still possible with only 8 real people.

yes, it is still a pain to get groups for jade quarry, and fort aspenwod, gotta go at the right time, which seems to be 5pm-9pm, est. but you are right, if you want to do pvp and dont want to sit there waiting for someone on other side to load, then alliance battles from guild hall are you're best bet, or zos shivros, its always pretty busy there, though thats a challenge, not pvp competative mission.

im going kurzick aswell.

though, I also heard that luxon missions are just poor compared to Kurzicks.

But im dissapointed that there are not more faction related exclusive items. there should be more uniqe stuff to get for your faction choosing. a few armors is okay, but there should be more IMO.

anyone else agree? i mean, the game is called factions. its really about choosing a side, and the only thing that seperates them is a few armor models:S

There should be faction specific weapons (IMO) that are fully customizable (if you have upgrades).

Also, I wouldn't mind faction specific pets. They have White and Orange Tigers, why not make them faction specific. There are other things you could do with the faction differences as well.

Well the white tigers are in kurzick zones and blue crabs are in the luxon zones.

Thats sort faction specific.

Unfortunately, there is starting to be an imbalence of players in favor of the Kurzick side.

The maps go between Saltspray Beach <> Etnaran Keys EVERY DAY. The Luxons have gotten to Grenz Frontier ONCE that I know of.

Now this is caused by one of three things.

A.) Most likely: The design of Saltspray Beach favors Kurizicks a tiny bit instead of being even.

B.) Possible: Luxons are full of completely god awful players who don't get it and never will.

C.) Possible: The decent guilds who are fickle and only care about winning joined the "winning" Kurzick side, mading the problem worse.

You can't fix A, and B, while possible, isn't probable "...even a Kurzick will tell you that..."

(For a bonus, tell me where the above quote is from, and who said it, about what subject. It's a IN game quote.)

That leaves us with C.) Maybe it'll change, maybe it won't, maybe the few good Luxon Alliances will give up trying and go Kurzick and we'll have a complete overrun of Luxon Territory.

Gyala Hatchery in reference to Shiro's being dead is where the quote is from.

As for imbalance the maps do currently run on Saltspray and Etnaran all the time, I've never seen one on the Kurzick side. I'll see how it goes in the future.

RUS, iA, sA, PnH, and a few other "high ranked" PvP guilds are in my friend's alliance, and their in the Luxon side.

I am one of those who haven't made it to even the capital of any faction yet =/ (with plenty of good reasons ><)

From my personal view, the kurzick seem to have about 10-15% more people than the luxon does. While the battle line always go from middle -> luxon losing one.

If luxon continue to drop, I would probably have to go for the underdog. (with kurzick armor)

I was playing with my guild yesterday on the 12 alliance battles for most of the day as the luxons and out of the 10 or so games we played we only lost 2.

I definatly prefer the Kurzicks, personally... but my Alliance is Luxon, so I'm sort of stuck with them :P

i wish Anet could give us statistics on these battles. Whos winning, whos losing. etc.

I mean we can see the line...but how many wins will it take to move it?
