I may not know the most in the world about TA or HA, but I know how to read. The criticism that you're getting is very valid for just the opposite reason that you're stating here. The tactics that are being suggested can be used by ANY type of team. Does a warrior have strafe keys? Does a ritualist? OMG but does a mesmer?? Of course they all do, just as easily as anyone can equip a wand or click on a target.
Goold luck strafing while there are a lot of traps in the area, good luck of interrupting a ranger with wirling defense, good luck killing spirits that are used by oath shot rangers. I may be wrong but these are the only critism in this thread that ALL builds can use, and they aren't really a threat.

Uh.. what? I wonder why everyone doesn't use short bows then.
Because rangers should stay in the backline while we kinda rush in.

Condition removal isn't something only the top 3 guilds run, and geez the enemy monk had better know how to mitigate damage.
In 99% of the cases one condition removal (mend condition + cop for self removal) is enough, too bad that you would need a lot more to counter this build. They can just be reapply'ed fast enough that removing them with one skill that takes 3 secs to use is impossible...

Last note: poison is a cover condition...

Most good teams run Draw Conditions on an off-monk. It's just silly having your monk removing conditions on a warrior that has blind + weakness as a cover, especialy since that target rarely needs healed. It's a waste of your monks attention, time and energy. Plus most other teams are going to have a mesmer on him, and it's not a great idea to be spamming skills on a non-negative energy set when being energy denied and near impossible when you've got a GoR+Gale+Blackout+Diversion shutdown mes on you.

In addition, what is a monk supposed to do when there's a warrior that knocks him down, uses crushing blow, knocks him down again before he can cast, and uses irrestiable blow on him? Especialy when there's say a lightning orb and perhaps an energy burn thrown in there too. Answer: Die. Unless your wonderful off-monk uses draw conditions and pulls the deep wound. Which, really, really reduces the chance of your monk being killed. Unless it's immediately followed by blackout or another knockdown like Gale, in which case your wonderful off monk can use a support healing spell, again reducing the chance the monk will die. Heal Other on a ether prodigy powered flashbot anyone?

Also, Recurve bows have a lower arc. Making them much harder to strafe. This has all been mentioned before.

I think everything's already been mentioned, but certain people just won't listen. coughclosethethreadcough

Constructive criticism does no good for the deaf, it seems.

@jesh: constructive critism = critism that says how to improve a build. In other words: saying that a build suck isn't constructive critism (and that seems to be the only thing you guys are saying).

Is this build rubbish because it can be countered by one skill: draw conditions?

The ViM trapper build has been discussed many times, especially when it was highlighted in the Zaishen Challenge.

This is a variation of that build that suffers many of its base weaknesses, the most significant of which is condition removal and simple trap avoidance. This is the main source of the criticism it is facing, and unfortunately since the build revolves around those two factors (coupled with spirits to handle Boon monks), there is very little that can be done to disarm these weaknesses.

This is why the posters continually state that "a good TA team won't be brought down by this." It's because everyone has had a ton of practice already either through previous encounters with the ViM build or through practicing in the Zaishen Challenge.
