Post Straight Warrior Damage Build

The general idea of this build is to deal around the same damage as an assasin without being so easily killed. While assasins are fantastic at killing enemies quickly, they arent so great at taking damage. Hence, assasins tend to get weighted down with dp, hindering their damage output (assuming they are rezzed at all).

Attributes:
Axe Mastery: 15 (12+1+2)
Strength: 13 (12+1)

Skills:

Power Attack
Swift Chop
Penetrating Chop
Eviscerate
Axe Twist
Axe Rake
Executioner's Strike
Rez Sig

For armor, you grab Sentinel's which, with 13 Strength, gives you quite a large armor rating. For runes, your going to need Superior Vigor, Major Axe Mastery, and Minor Strength to get the stats where they are. I also put Superior Damage Reduction on because it won't give you a health penalty and it helps keep you alive. If you've got it, grab a Armor Penetrating Axe.

The build's implementation is fairly straightforward. You use the attacks in pretty much the order I gave them. You open up with energy attacks, then, once your energy is exhausted, you'll have built up enough adrenaline to use penetrating chop, and likely Eviscerate. As soon as you land Eviscerate, smack on axe twist and axe rake (which, because they have deep wounds, will do quite a bit of damage, and cripple them). Axe Rake may be especially important because, if you've landed all these hits, the enemy is likely quite hurt, and might be running. Finally, you hit with executioner's strike (last because it requires such a large amount of adren). What's important to note here is that you will likely also kick other warrior's ass. You've got 13% armor penetration ALWAYS for your strength score. You'll get an extra 10% penetration 10% of the time if you use a sundering axe haft, and when you use Penetrating chop, you'll be getting another 20%.

Input is appreciated!

Sundering sucks, and actually it's 20% sundering 20% of the time.

If you want damage, campiric is the way to go.

Kiting >>> this build.

in my experience, by the time your target realizes "oh shit, kiting time", you've already got axe rake on them. Besides, even if they do get away from you, you've got at least 3 other people to smack on.

I've also taken to sometimes just going straight for the warrior(s) right out of the gate. this build can drop them pretty fast, and they won't be kiting.

Vampiric still would be the way to go over sundering. Vampiric is an automatic 3 damage which can be even more deadly when combined with powerful attacks such as the ones you have posted. Sundering can be good but its extremely overrated.

U cant get rake off on someone if they were kiting the whole time and u have 0 adrenaline. so put in at least some kinda speed boost (sprint/rush). attack rate boost is generally nice to have, usually frenzy (with careful use) is the most dominant choice.
id try putting these skills instead of say Power attack (which i find is not particularly useful..)

PS have u checked out the rather popular "shock warrior" build?

Ive only tested this out in RA, so I'm not sure how much of a problem kiting is going to be in other arenas. If I find kiting is a problem, sprint is certainly a good solution.

I'll test frenzy, but I'm not sure, especially when monk absence can be an issue, how open I want to be to damage. As far as the shock warrior goes, I'm not a big fan of it. The point of this build is to exhaust your energy supply in order to be able to start using adren, then one thats exhausted, your energy has regenerated. Burning it so quickly does not appeal to me.

After looking over it, what do you think about putting some points into smiting, then subbing axe rake and swift chop for bane signet and smite? I think the overall implementation would be undisturbed, while damage output could increase.

Battle Rage
Standing Slash
Galrath Slash
Sun and Moon Slash
Sever Artery
Gash
Healing Signet
Resurrection Signet

Learn to use frenzy, it literally is good enough that it could almost be considered an elite. Just learn to stance-cancel it when under attack, and don't use it when you are under attack.

BTW, it seems that you're just using shock too often. How about cutting down your shock use for when you really need it (holding a kiter down for a spike, interrupting key skills, etc.). Dont spam it, you really shouldn't have a problem in the 2-3 min long battles of RA.

... no...

as mephisto said, you should limit ur usage of shock. ull get used to it when u play more. a good solution is also to put 9 in air magic, allowing u to use an air-linked Storm Artifact (i use a +15/-1 en regen +30hp one on my warrior).

if you find urself using shock too often, try to incorporate Bulls strike, and only use shock very conservatively :P
